I think RCA was worried about radio-friendly singles. Why else do you bring in Dr. Luke? They delayed the album to work on making some tracks more "radio" and maybe adding a new one. If the chief reason for the delay was to get a single higher on the charts by album drop time, then they would have rushed NCOE to radio; they haven't done this. This isn't a bad thing. Of course non-fans will spin it that way, but everything can be spun. RCA has clearly made radio a priority for this era. Which, IMO, is a good thing. Radio exposure will lead to new ears, more sales, more time on the charts, and more promo opportunities. There are many reasons that could have moved the album back to May 15. Certainly that provided a change to add two tracks including NCOE. The decision to move the album may have been good for RCA/Sony because they had an opening on May 15th when Chris Brown moved to June 26th, and it may have looked attractive because they could get Idol for May 17th. And there may be other factors. We just do not know what the considerations were. There are a lot of moving parts on the release schedule and not everything is just about Adam -- Sony has to hit quarterly numbers. --- On Dr. Luke, that is definitely not Adam specific: "Sony also locked down Dr. Luke’s production services exclusively for five years, meaning he’ll no longer be able to work with Perry or other artists outside of the Sony system...." Link: www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/doug-morris-dr-luke-sony-258729 Doug Morris struck the deal with Dr. Luke last November. I expect to see a lot of single with a Dr. Luke production credit. Although Dr. Luke + Adam has not been golden, Dr. Luke has a great track record. (I am leaving that terrible pun -- on the once typed, don't dlete rule!! ) --- There are lead single promotional strategies and trailing single promotion strategies. Both work. So the fact that NCOE may be released as a trailing hit single is not a big deal. It is a way to sustain album sales. Two recent cases -- Adele and Kelly Clarkson. One historic case: FYE and WWFM.

Not a surprise that this sold out but it was sure fast!
There are some amazing 3rd row Mezzanine seats just released on Ticketmaster for Kirby and some row V Orchestra!! Go grab them if you can!!

Like I said, I think Adam was doing what he was doing from the beginning, tweaking and perfecting the songs to his satisfaction. It's almost what I like to think what would have happened to Aftermath in FYE if hr had more control. As in he liked the song, but heard it a different way then how it was produced.
Of course Adam want radio friendly songs in the album. Imo, NCOE was in contention for being on the album way back during his first promo rounds, he/RCA wanted it spruced up for the album. But even in its rough state, pds, fans, media reviewers, thought that it was a good radio hit song, before Dr. Luke even touched it.
I don't think he brought Dr. Luke on board for NCOE just to make it more radio friendly, but to make it come up to par with the rest of the album. And yes, we knew just about all the songs on the standard album. Only new ones are PTL and the bonus tracks.

Okay, if Adam doesn't do well this era, I am reading from posts above, it's RCA's fault, NO MONEY AND MANPOWER FOR ROLLOUT. Well, that is not wanted I wanted to hear this morning. Yes, he is not Kelly, but a valuable asset. To destroy an asset is suicide. I hope this is not true. Why oh why does Adam get shyte flung at him. He has enough to deal with. Makes me want to spend more money, and buy more albums to support him. Well, No, because those facts are wrong. RCA did not file for bankruptcy. They just restructured because their CEO left. Every artist has not been pushed back. As a matter of fact, if we are discussing Idol people, Daughtry was pushed up

Building, building, step by step, one step at a time,Adam's new album is amazing. Every time we all start biting our nails with worry great news comes about. It never fails..LOL The problem is that we never stop long enough to enjoy each success before we start angsting about the next thing. If we can just enjoy each day,we have it made. I tell this to one of my daughters all the time. she does amazing things in her life and worries about the outcome. As soon as the outcome comes and she has amazed everyone she starts worrying about the next big thing and therefore never takes the time to enjoy what she has achieved.Adam has done so much in the last three years, beyond imagination. Remember he was doing small clubs with an audience of maybe less than 100 people, now he's Queen's lead singer for 4 concerts,On his second album&name recognition all over the world. Perspective and a glance back helps me. It's hard but I force myself to look back ,to see where Adam has come from and how far he's gone. Trust me it's hard for me,I mean I sometimes have panic attacks over Adam, and I don't even know him. I guess we can't compare Adam to other POP singers, he's unique in every way. You know, I was up at 3:30 am reading here at Adamtopia.. so believe me I know from angsting. I am trying to learn to take the ups and downs and enjoy the ride.Maybe a virtual group hug will be calming.

I was so lucky, I got to go to that appearance. The DJ (Blake Hayes) was so cute and friendly to all the fans and with Adam. He was just the opposite of what I expected a DJ to be like.
