.. is being radio friendly "good" or "bad"? Obviously "radio friendly" is "good" for radio exposure that apparently leads to sales. However, to TO ME "radio friendly" = generic, watered down, not interesting musically or lyrically = "bad". I tend to think that Adam had a killer line up, and was forced to add BTIKM (early)+make it a single and NCOE (late)+ make it a single...these replaced his songs, that were probably killers like all other songs he has written on. BUT, it added "radio frinedly" songs... ... is that "good" or '"bad"? Radio friendly is good, it's VERY GOOD! Adam knows it or he wouldn't want radio friendly songs on his CD. He wouldn't spend a month away from home trying to get radio stations to play his single. He wouldn't be doing these upcoming radio shows. Adam is a smart man, he knows that radio play is important for a Pop artist.

It's just a specific delivery system and format designed to appeal to a mass audience. Do designers consider their ready-to-wear collections inferior to their haute couture work? There is great power and influence in getting a song heard by millions of people. There are beautifully crafted songs that are radio hits. I listen to Top 40 regularly and also play my obscure world music and indy faves at home. They meet different needs but I'd miss either one if I gave it up.

I had to, I simply had to...Unfortunately, I only know how to crop, I wish I knew how to enhance it...

When I think "radio friendly" I just think catchy songs that aren't too ambitious that I can just listen to in the background and sing along to while I'm doing stuff like shopping or driving. Nothing "bad" about that, it's just approaching writing from a different perspective.
