I am not generally a fan of any magazine photo shoots but I have got to say, I dislike EVERYONE of these new pics. It's like taking a masterpiece and thinking you will improve it by changing the proportions, shape, texture, color... I've seen fan art that looks more like him. A wasted opportunity at capturing his beauty. IMHO.

They are probably going to let it build on HAC. This tells me that for all our angst RCA is in no rush and is probably more focused on the long term success of the project. I think that rather than focusing on hugely inflated first week sales they are building towards a long term goal. I think that's pretty smart actually considering how many artists that have had huge first week sales have then had huge drop offs. Look at Gaga's album, even though it probably has sold well overall most of the general public saw the huge first week and then this huge drop off which the media reported on a lot. Madonna just had the same thing, huge first week and record setting second week drop. I'd much rather Adam have a decent first week and a perfectly average second week drop than to have the media banging on about a big drop off in sales. Over the last year are so there have been too many of these high debut big drop stories and I for one am not interested in seeing Adam in those ranks. I would like to had adds for next week. so that stations can add and play the song, Then have his AI impression reach the 1 m mark minimum to make an impact on single sales. I would like to have familiarity of the song when he sings it on AI. Wasn't WWFM a hit before he sang it on AI and his single sales for the performance were hugh. He won't have super sales of NCOE if no one is familiar. Ok he will have sales but probably not as high as the song would be played on a regular basis. Just reaching here because I'm truly disappointed in an adds date for a month away. Sorry but it take 10 million AI to make any real impression on sales and the impact date is kind of meaningless because radio doesn't have to wait for the impact date. The song has been released to radio and if they want to play it they can. Even if the impact date was next week there is no guarantee that he would have significant radio presence on CHR by the Idol performance. Obviously RCA is working a different playbook than what the fans expect. They are the ones with all the market data. Most of the time record companies get accused of only looking at the short term and milky ever penny they can get up front. But RCA's strategies with Adam all through the last era and this one so far indicate that they are more focused on the long term than the short term. This should be a good thing not bad. If they are confident enough in Adam to take a long term view we should be happy about that. I for one have been absolutely thrilled that RCA has been marketing the "artist" Adam Lambert and not the "product". They are not marketing him like a disposable pop act they are marketing him like an artist who is going to be around for a long time. The are building his audience. This is what people have been complaining that the record companies DON'T DO. People have been bitching for years that the labels don't invest in the long term career but everything RCA has said and done has indicated that they are invested in Adam's long term success so I just don't get why anybody is pissed at RCA.

I don't know why the Rolling Stone review used the word strident.. It means shrill and grating.. Are there different meanings that are positive for strident. Weird use in a complimentary article. I don't get it.

I agree with you.. RCA is also marketing Adam as a long term International star.
