I would say more than that if BTIKM sold 4,000, no? The 4,000 for BTIKM was for NCOE opening week I am talking about 2nd week for NCOE. I know. My point is that if BTIKM was not even in the top 500, then I would expect NCOE to be much higher than 4,000 for its 2nd week.

Given those numbers and looking back on the itunes positions I have then NCOE's second week was probably 4 - 6 thousand. I would say more than that if BTIKM sold 4,000, no? It fell quickly in the second week starting at #115 Mon morning but by Tues night already down to #241, #376 end of Wed, #501 end of Thurs when we lost access to anything lower than 200. Lowest we can get is 400 now and its been off that and its position on pop indicates that by Sunday it was probably in the 900's somewhere. That's why I gave a range because it's iTunes #'s were somewhere btw BTIKM and TVOL in the week we have those numbers from. Oh, forgot this part for the week BTIKM sold 4,000 it was at #656 Mon morning peaked in the #520's and was at #583 the end of the week. Not too huge a fluctuation.

If you are talking about 2nd week of release I don't know I wasn't tracking. What I am comparing is itunes positions of BTIKM and TVOL for the week Brian gave numbers for to the itunes position of NCOE for this past week. NCOE in it's second week was somewhere between the positions that BTIKM and TVOL had for the week that they had 4,000 and 7,000 sales respectively so the similarity indicates that it sold somewhere in that range. Of course it is not exact because numbers fluctuate from week to week but it's not going to be wildly off from that. BTIKM's 4,000 came from a fairly consistent sales position during the week where TVOL went from out of the top 1000 Mon-Thurs to a peak in the #120's on Fri and back down to #309 by midnight Sun.

I was just thinking that BTIKM fell pretty fast too and sold 17,000 its second week. Hope it is high enough for Brian to have the numbers, hopefully.

I don't think it did fall as fast because the second week was the week between xmas and NY that is a big download week because of xmas gift cards. Plus remember it sold 39k first wk and NCOE did 29k so even if it fell at the same rate that's a difference of 10k in first wk sales so a diff of 10k in 2nd week would put NCOE at 7,000. ETA: Estimate for Carrie at HDD based on first day sales is 275-295 Her last album Play On debuted with 317,811 in 2009 so if the prediction holds that's a very small drop off compared to Kelly, Daughtry and Cook.

BTW sorry if I set off an angst round with my post but I am not yet at the point of worrying. What I meant was that when all is said and done with the songs if radio didn't play it a decent amount then I will call bullshit. Made my post too brief. Yes we are still in much early days and I still have hopes that this song will do well. Just kind of projecting in to the future how I will feel if it doesn't catch on at CHR like BTIKM failed to do. Adam will be around for a long time to come because when you are that good as a live performer you will continue to build an audience. I don't think radio is the be all and end all of Adam's career as a whole. Maybe he'll just end up the biggest cult star in the world. Maybe somewhere along the lines some of his songs will find homes on formats other than pop. I seriously doubt his future with RCA hinges completely on radio as it seems they see his potential elsewhere. But even if somehow RCA gives up on him I think his growing reputation in the industry will still afford him the connections to work with top notch people. So I am not "worried" about much of anything maybe just a bit "suspicious" of radio at this point but I have faith that Adam will be successful. I don't have a need to define what form that success will take the important part is that Adam is HAPPY with his career wherever it takes him. THIS^^^^ x 1000!!!!! If radio happens, great! If not, Adam will still be a star! Adam still has so much to offer outside of the narrow world of pop radio. He will always have Queen and always has his beautiful music to give to the world! Adam will always be someone who can sell albums and who can tour around the world! Adam has so many out of this world, out of the box surprises for us, I just know it!

BTW sales are pretty dismal for a lot of the Idols. Anyone remember where Daughtry's single "Crawling Back to You" peaked on HAC? Thought is had done a lot better than BTIKM but look at the sales.
Daughtry, Crawling Back to You (2,000, 243,000)
only 120k more than BTIKM and song was available before his album came out.
