Forgive the three texts; iPhone did a software upgrade and now Send is right under Backspace, so I kept sending when I was trying to correct. Great idea, Apple!! :-/ |

A pap pic of Adam strolling down a random street in LA surfaces. Within minutes, the pic is blown up and analyzed. The bookstore in the background is googled, and soon someone who knows someone who once had coffee with someone who works there is able to get an up-to-date sales record. Within hours, the book Adam bought, “Underwater Basketweaving For Complete Idiots,” enters the NY Times bestseller list. Soon thereafter, it is determined that Adam actually didn’t buy the book at all, but only flipped through it for a moment. The author is identified and flooded with hate emails. Adam pimps an unknown polka singer on Twitter. The fandom freaks out at the idea of polka!Adam, with opinions evenly divided between “No! OMFG No! Please no!” and “Yeah, man, wutever AFL sings is music to my ears…” The fandom self-soothes by deciding that Adam might simply be dating the singer, and we soon know his address, shoe size, rising sign, and the name of his pet dachshund . The dog’s name trends worldwide for the next 4 hours. Adam makes an appearance at a nightclub. The fandom identifies each item of clothing he wears, and is able to carbon-date each article via photographs dating back to Adam’s early childhood. One new, never-before-seen item is noted—a necktie with a pattern of kissing seamonkeys. The fandom scours the internet and finds said tie on an obscure up-and-coming designer’s website. Designer is stunned to find that online sales of her kissing-seamonkey scarves increases 784% overnight. A random tweeter mentions running into Adam at LAX. Fans identify all outbound flights in the next hour. They bombard the original tweeter with questions until he/she/it coughs up the fact that Adam was wearing a gray sweater. After receiving 534 tweets inquiring whether it was indeed a sweater, or “the” gray swacket, the tweeter deletes his/her/its account and is never heard from again..."  |
