Haven't read the thread yet - just wanted to check my new avi and be sure no one else had it. Dear JazzRocks, please post a lot today. I love your new avi! Speaking of photos, Q3, I had a hard time getting past the Sunday Treat this morning! To me, there is no "old" Adam or "new" Adam, there is just Adam. He is genuine in the moment--the consummate performer who feeds off the audience and lives and breathes his songs. That's what I love about him. It's always a surprise. SusieFierce, I hadn't read your post when I was writing mine. You said it all so much more deliciously. |

Just watched the AI performance again and the shot I have on pause right now is him beaming at the end. So beautiful and yes, that is the cheesecake after the gourmet meal of a performance (or the apple pie  ) except I like cheesecake better. Or chocolate souffle or creme brulee ... Anyway, to carry this analogy further, I've always been a "love-everything-on-the-menu girl" and hate just choosing ONE thing. And that's why Adam is the perfect person for me to stan because he is something new and different every time and I love every one. I think the thing with this new, fresh look that people are reacting to does speak to people's prejudice. We all have them. Hell, I might have overlooked him a few years ago if I just looked at the surface and he didn't win me over with his smile and unbelievable talent. But I think so many people see the makeup and the jewelry and the crazy hair and just can't reconcile it with their usual tastes – or that's ALL they see and for whatever reason, they use it as a reason to not look deeper. And that's REALLY too bad. Because it is sooooo much fun knowing he can show up sweet and vulnerable in jeans, t-shirt and minimal makeup or he could be a fierce, crazy, spiky-codpiece-and-blonds-boots-wearing mofo and still be the same incredible person and talent. I was looking for the YouTube from Thursday to do a screen grab of where I have my TV paused right now, but Devenlane's has been blocked by Freemantle (damn them!)But I came across this, which I've never seen. Really cute and he gets almost emotional talking about Adam, which starts at about 4:12. Hoopla, I'm so glad you could spend those last moments with Craig. Both he and your cousin sound like incredible men. I loved the poem. A beautiful economy of words that paints such a vivid picture. Mayumi, I really hope you can go see her and please, don't schedule it too far out. I don't mean to be dire, but my dad, step-dad and cousin were all gone a month after diagnosis.
