Drive-by post, but... Daaamn. I thought I had deleted the snippets ages ago (cuz I couldn’t stop listening to them), but then I just had my iPod on shuffle and suddenly, out of nowhere, the infectious beats and melodies of shady hits my consciousness ...and guys, I swear I just experienced fireworks, lottery win and 9000 eargasms blended with the Carnival of Rio, nirvana and world peace all in 1.56 minutes. How good is this album going to be huh? I’m so glad it’s finally May, with 15 days to go! I know! I managed to stop listening to the snippets for almost a week. But then I had a weak moment a few days ago and, GOOD LORD, they sounded 10x better than I remembered . I can't wait for the world to hear Adam's music. If people aren't blown away, then IDEK.

Back to Mahailia's comment's about posting. I'm fairly new here, so don't jump in very often, but I did post a few comments about my reactions and feelings about the Kimmel event last week. At the time the only person who acknowledged my post was Reihmer - thank you, I appreciated that. I felt my reactions were a little different than others that were posting. For example, I was really taken with "Broken English" - I thought it was sublime. Also I gave a shout-out to the two back-up singers and felt they added greatly to the whole performance. Now several threads later, I'm finding that a few others have singled out "Broken English" as well - and even more importantly, I've been following the discussion on his backup singers. I found that in the Kimmel live performance, they added such richness, fullness and depth. I'm very glad they're with Adam's ensemble. LOL, annala. I told someone the other day that when I post something on Atop and it gets ignored, I never know whether to be sad or breathe a huge sigh of relief. Annala, Junie - the thing is that if you see no written response - it does not mean that your post was not read and appreciated. We have well over a hundred people reading here at any time... only few post (unfortunately). Actually, nothing enriches us as much as the opinions that differ from our own... from people of different backgrounds... So, keep posting - to me EVERY opinion is interesting, regardless of whether I agree or not... whether I have any response or time to respond...

I don´t know if this works but I try. I know Adam like George Michaels music and if I remember right he has been singing this beautiful and kind of sad song somewhere. Where was it? I love this song! George sing here like an angel.

thank you Gabby and nonchallance! I am not going to any of the concerts but for some weird reason I take pleasure in researching the venues and charts and ticket prices... :

There is a difference in giving Adam all the credit for certain things (such as arranging music) and saying he is a solo artist and the band, singers, etc. work for him. Why are the background singers good? Because they came in being good. They have been in this exact environment and working with each other for years. It's not like they didn't know what they were doing, but walked into Adam's "band" for two weeks and POOF, they are NOW amazing. I'm just trying to give credit where credit is due. These two ladies sounded good because THEY are good. They are good at what they do. Sasha and Terrance were good dancers, because they are good, they are excellent dancers. (Sasha did pretty darn good on SYTYCD) Brian is a well respected musician and director because he has proven himself over the years to be excellent. The backup singers on the AI tour were also very good, very professional and had years of experience and yet did not mesh worth shit with Adam in my opinion but then he didn't get to pick them did he. Adam's choices are as much a reason that the back up singers compliment his voice as the actual talent of the singers. If he doesn't make the right choice then the performance suffers. The first step in the creation of that beautiful performance was hiring the right people and that is what Cassie was pointing out as Adam's contribution. Why is this so hard to understand? Exactly!!! There are TWO PARTS to your statement. Now, what percentage people want to give to each is up to the individual- but you still at least MENTIONED that these two professionals were talented. Why is it so hard to understand that a sentence or two acknowledging that the people involved might actually bring something to the table might be respectful of their talent? When the question is asked "Why do the back-up singers sound so good with Adam" and not ONE WORD is mentioned about their years of working together as a team (which can be attributed to Jill Scott or her MD for matching these voices in the first place, not Adam) or the fact that Brian worked with these ladies for days before Adam arrived, I don't think it is that far off base to bring up that it's not all Adam!

I think it is important to remember is that there is a large number of people who read individual posts and nod, laugh, cheer, and, even align themselves with certain a-top members BUT who never verbalize this. There are tons of lurkers ( having been one myself for quite a while) so even if no one responds to your post (or even if you get a negative response) it doesn't mean it wasn't noticed or even agreed upon. In fact, now that I am not a lurker, I still let lots of great posts go unmentioned because of time or simply because there are too many to single out. The best days are ones in which I have to take time to process the ideas here so I am not posting at all, support or not.
I've read a lot of "come back ame, we don't have to agree" messages but I want to take that one step further. I think there needs to be an acknowledgement that you are not different. It was brave of you to admit that you have some homophobic history on a fan site for a gay man and I am sure there were some who may have been unable to relate. But I would be willing to bet that there are more people who are, themselves, in a process of evolving in one way or another. I myself come from a religiously homophobic mother and I had never known a gay person personally. I wasn't "anti" but I just didn't get it. It took knowing Adam to get it. Then his love story really solidified it for me. But we all come from different places and we shouldn't feel bad for where we are in the process of life.
I think everyone here is changed in some way because of Adam. There are so many messages to learn from him. One of them is complete acceptance of things that are different from you. I would be willing to bet that there are more fans here that have learned and grown from this message, than could say they haven't.
