LOL at the leadership discussion I think we are ALL saying the same thing, which is basically two sides of the same coin: 1. Adam is a really talented musician, who takes things to the next level as a leader. Take all the musicians in his band, without him, and the experience wouldn't be close to the same. 2. The musicians in the band are very talented in their own right. Regardless of Adam's magical touch, not even him would be able to make magic out of people who don't know what they're doing. And speaking of leaders, rabbit brought up an interesting point, which is, besides Adam, the MD is also the one with great musical vision who should be credited for these performances. Yup, you hit the nail on the head IMO. and maybe it's just the way I'm reading it, and time to drop it, but seriously i see lots of wild misinterpretations of Tigerlily's posts. I don't think she is saying or implying half of what people think she is and are are getting 'strong feelings' about. And because I can't speak for Tigerlily of course, I was thinking that Cassie's original post yesterday hit me as a little over the top in wording as well, because it seemed to be glossing over the music director's contribution, but proboards locked me out so... Also I appreciate gracefulforadam's post. THANK YOU!!! Exactly right!!!!

Back to Mahailia's comment's about posting. I'm fairly new here, so don't jump in very often, but I did post a few comments about my reactions and feelings about the Kimmel event last week. At the time the only person who acknowledged my post was Reihmer - thank you, I appreciated that. I felt my reactions were a little different than others that were posting. For example, I was really taken with "Broken English" - I thought it was sublime. Also I gave a shout-out to the two back-up singers and felt they added greatly to the whole performance. Now several threads later, I'm finding that a few others have singled out "Broken English" as well - and even more importantly, I've been following the discussion on his backup singers. I found that in the Kimmel live performance, they added such richness, fullness and depth. I'm very glad they're with Adam's ensemble. annala I think everyone can relate to feeling ignored at times. Especially if you're new to a forum it can seem like everyone else is gabbing away around you. But I agree with the others that it's really not possible to respond to every post. I know from my experience that I'll post for what seems like ages with nary a reply. Other times, there's a constant back and forth which is great but I've come not to expect it. I just keep prattling on and reading the discussion and know that I'm part of what keeps this place going whether I'm acknowledged or not. You are too!

Drive-by post, but... Daaamn. I thought I had deleted the snippets ages ago (cuz I couldn’t stop listening to them), but then I just had my iPod on shuffle and suddenly, out of nowhere, the infectious beats and melodies of shady hits my consciousness ...and guys, I swear I just experienced fireworks, lottery win and 9000 eargasms blended with the Carnival of Rio, nirvana and world peace all in 1.56 minutes. How good is this album going to be huh? I’m so glad it’s finally May, with 15 days to go! Yes!!! Only two weeks!!!! And a video probably a week or two after that!! So excited!

ame. Please don't leave. The last time someone on Atop bit my head off for no good reason, I went outside with my lunch bag and broke down in tears. Being misunderstood is seriously painful for an introverted person. I considered just quietly deleting my account and walking away, closing the door behind me and never looking back. Then I thought about all the fun, great people I would miss -- people I would name except I don't want to miss one -- and decided not to let my fun be ruined, and I came back on and posted as much or more than ever. As JFK said, Fuck 'em if they can't take a joke. My two cents about the backup singers and the inexplicable debate about it. Leadership is critical to the success of any organization. I work in a research library. We had extremely successful projects for years considering our size and funding. I was proud to work here because we had such great, dedicated, talented and amazing people who cared passionately about the cause here. Once for reasons too tedious to explain the bosses were all gone for a month. Things ran as well or better than ever and we got tons done. We were so motivated! Then our old boss retired and we got a new boss. Now we can't do anything right. Our projects are poorly conceived failures, the staff is demotivated and at each other's throats, and it's hell to work here. Even our small wins feel like defeats. The staff members have not changed. The leadership is what has changed. It denigrates no one's talent to point out that having a driven leader who appreciates talent, empowers his talent to suggest ideas, and is intuitive about people will get great results. Adam is growing into that man and good for him, and good for us. My 2 cents. Thank you!

I had never known a gay person personally. I wasn't "anti" but I just didn't get it. It took knowing Adam to get it. Then his love story really solidified it for me. But we all come from different places and we shouldn't feel bad for where we are in the process of life.I think everyone here is changed in some way because of Adam. There are so many messages to learn from him. One of them is complete acceptance of things that are different from you. I would be willing to bet that there are more fans here that have learned and grown from this message, than could say they haven't. My nomination for Post of the Day.

I love your two cents and this is me acknowledging it. I TA and furthermore...I would love to hear from someone re a comment I have made at least twice...maybe three times...so there! Am I the only one that compares the 'wailing' [not the best word but the one used] in BE to FS WLL rather than ROF? Unfortunately, you must be the only one who thinks that or someone would agree with you. (ha-I don't really have an opinion but I wanted to answer your post)

I think it is important to remember is that there is a large number of people who read individual posts and nod, laugh, cheer, and, even align themselves with certain a-top members BUT who never verbalize this. There are tons of lurkers ( having been one myself for quite a while) so even if no one responds to your post (or even if you get a negative response) it doesn't mean it wasn't noticed or even agreed upon. In fact, now that I am not a lurker, I still let lots of great posts go unmentioned because of time or simply because there are too many to single out. The best days are ones in which I have to take time to process the ideas here so I am not posting at all, support or not. Thank you both . You expressed my thoughts perfectly.
