If I really wanted to talk about an issue that bothers me, I'd bring up the fact that Adam announced publicly that the backups singers' nickname is the Vajayjays. But I don't want to add more dissension to the board today, and I'm hoping that introduction was a one-time thing. But fair warning to other board members, if he mentions it on stage again, then I'm gonna go OFF! yeah, Misha, this really bugged me too, but I haven't mentioned it. I am afraid to say that Adam will use this constantly, as much as he introduced Tommy as "Pretty Kitty". I think he thinks it is cute and funny, and apparently the Diva's don't mind. I do, and think it is demeaning, but I am not them. Unless there is a twitter outcry that Adam catches wind of, I'm afraid we will be stuck with it for the tour.

Dear ame, let me tell you what has happened to me and what I think about posting here. I hope you still read the board and will post in the future.
Most of the time I am sleeping when the discussions go on here and often I catch up so late that it seems pointless to say anything. Sometimes I saw new post "in real time" and wanted to express another view to the topic. I tried to keep my post short in order to not get into vocabulary/phrase structures that might be misinterpreted. That was not a good thing because my post probably seemed blunt and maybe I just chose a wrong word to use which lead to angry responses.
I thought that I understood what happened, it must have been because I did not give any background or reasons why. It is also very likely that the anger perceived was not directed to me personally even though I felt discouraged. Later I felt the need to say something and decided to write some background as to why I might have my opinion. That time I quickly got a response denying my experience (which was supposed to be background info only), nothing about my actual opinion, so not a success. Again later I tried to bring up some new aspect related to discussion that was going on. No response at all, maybe I was late. But I suspect that language had a big part to do with it (not a right tone to engage people). Or just that it was not interesting to others. All this is ok, it is just life.
We have difficulties in choosing our words and phrases, and also we might not have all the years in fandom that most of the people here have. For example, I honestly did not know that mentioning a certain name would set the hell loose and all I wanted to do was to discuss the sound and what makes a performance most enjoyable to me. Just one word might make the difference and we have no way of knowing what it is. As much as I hope that others could keep an open mind to my posts and not get any preconceptions in their head, that is a lot to expect. I am not better than anybody else in this respect either. I think that we should try to understand each other and not take anything too personally - even if it hurts initally. That is just how it is, we are very different every one and written word might come across the wrong way. Sometimes the response strikes a sensitive chord in ourselves but we have to remember that the responder has no idea of that possibility.
My conclusion is that I have a lot to learn how to express myself, both in a foreign language and in accordance to the board rules and conventions. It is a process. And I still don't quite grasp the idea how to formulate a post without mentioning the earlier posters or any names besides Adam, and explaining the background and being short at the same time. And that is not a language thing, only. On the other hand, I find some posts odd but they are far and between. So it seems that we all deal with these problems. Mostly posters are very friendly and understanding which is rare in the web.
Above all difficulties, I think that a board like this is a very good thing and my first reaction is not to part with it but learn and grow. Thank you who strive in keeping it a good place to be. I'll get info, pictures, questions, a lot of joy, rants and even disagreements to be part of - and I am sure that nothing said has a malicious intent, only some 'communication disarray' occurring, unfortunately often out of the blue.

So...how 'bout that penis! HUH?? Was I being too random? It was in reference to mys*&@^#r's last quote a page back...but now that I think about it, it seems even Adam's penis is controversial. Can you believe the power this man carries?!!!

There were at least a dozen posts I liked or wanted to comment on, but I can't, for a couple of reasons: 1. I think the mods would bite my head off ;D 2. Ok, I can choose one or two, but sometimes it's impossible to decide, when I like them or feel intrigued by all 3. Ultimatelly, the first two points are irrelevant. We should all put this forum in the first place, before our personal feelings. If we all thanked everyone or everyone commented on everyone's post, well... that would NOT be good ---------------------------- It seems a virus has messed up my stationary computer ( the big one, you know) and when I read that the forum was messed up as well, I freaked out a bit: firstly, because i thought I'd picked it up here, secondly, and much worse, the forum had picked it from me ( is that even possible?)
-----------------------------
Re Adam, the band, and such: I just have to add that all comments were music related, which is great, but also I think that Adam's role is the one that I wouldn't like to see underestimated ( not that anyone has done that, god forbid): his choices, his personality, his mojo that brings and keeps it all together and functioning great. If anyone here underestimated the roles of the back up singers, so what? I don't care. The band is replacable, it would be great if it was permanent, for numerous reasons, but if not... hasta la vista!!!
Or the movies correlation: the great director makes a great film and makes it possible for actors to create great roles. It doesn't work vice versa: great roles do not make a great film.
------------------------------- I'm on the team #feelfreetoignoremyposts, but never, NEVER question my right to post and rant and admire and drool and what not about ITS ROYAL HIGHNESS THE GLAMBULGE
