Exactly!!! There are TWO PARTS to your statement. Now, what percentage people want to give to each is up to the individual- but you still at least MENTIONED that these two professionals were talented. Why is it so hard to understand that a sentence or two acknowledging that the people involved might actually bring something to the table might be respectful of their talent? When the question is asked "Why do the back-up singers sound so good with Adam" and not ONE WORD is mentioned about their years of working together as a team (which can be attributed to Jill Scott or her MD for matching these voices in the first place, not Adam) or the fact that Brian worked with these ladies for days before Adam arrived, I don't think it is that far off base to bring up that it's not all Adam! WTF?! Cassie said more than ONE word! She said "deep connections" "Talented people" "voices he wants without doing auditions." She mentioned all of this in her reply. Did you read the whole thing? Just because she didn't mention Jill Scott? Acknowleding the talent on that stage is exactly what her reply said. She also acknowledged that there has to be a vision of the artist to put it all together. The "days" before Adam arrived, BTW, was 2. Friday and Sat. Adam started on Sunday. The band and ladies didn't even know the songs. And the old band did the same, thing. They also rehearsed without Adam. I'm sure Brian has a big say in how the music is arranged but, sorry. I don't see anyway he is the major force over Adam. Just no! And I am obviosuly getting upset so I am taking a couple hour break. Hope the penis discussion is back when I get back! aw, bb, I'm sad you're upset and I'm not part of this discussion, so I have no comment and I'm not trying to make light of it but this really made me LOL....

I need to ask a favor of a fan (not in the U.S) who is planning to buy and download Sam Sparro's New CD, coming out May 25th I believe, from iTunes. Would you please PM me if you can help me out?
Thanks!

Egads. I'm not sure why this is still a debate. I don't think anyone is contesting your point. Maybe I'm reading into it, but I think that Cassie was answering why things are different with these talented singers versus perhaps equally talented singers (who may not mesh as well), and that she was starting from the premise that they are talented. But in any case, Jill didn't match their voices together (so she gets no more credit than you're giving Adam): www.huffingtonpost.com/mike-ragogna/the-light-of-the-day-a-co_b_908244.html"I found The A Group in Los Angeles, they were in The Conga Room and I walked in unexpected and they were singing, "Is It The Way." One of the songs I did 11 years ago with the first recording Who Is Jill Scott. They were killing it too! So, I asked them if they would come in and sing the background for "Shame." Then, I shot the video in Philadelphia and then called Eve because I wanted her, because this is my Philadelphia family. We did a song together, we did "You Got Me" 12 years before that. She came through like a soldier, which was wonderful." It would be a dream come true for me if Adam and Jill ever sang together. Just putting that out into the universe. If I really wanted to talk about an issue that bothers me, I'd bring up the fact that Adam announced publicly that the backups singers' nickname is the Vajayjays. But I don't want to add more dissension to the board today, and I'm hoping that introduction was a one-time thing. But fair warning to other board members, if he mentions it on stage again, then I'm gonna go OFF!

I think it is important to remember is that there is a large number of people who read individual posts and nod, laugh, cheer, and, even align themselves with certain a-top members BUT who never verbalize this. There are tons of lurkers ( having been one myself for quite a while) so even if no one responds to your post (or even if you get a negative response) it doesn't mean it wasn't noticed or even agreed upon. In fact, now that I am not a lurker, I still let lots of great posts go unmentioned because of time or simply because there are too many to single out. The best days are ones in which I have to take time to process the ideas here so I am not posting at all, support or not. I've read a lot of "come back ame, we don't have to agree" messages but I want to take that one step further. I think there needs to be an acknowledgement that you are not different. It was brave of you to admit that you have some homophobic history on a fan site for a gay man and I am sure there were some who may have been unable to relate. But I would be willing to bet that there are more people who are, themselves, in a process of evolving in one way or another. I myself come from a religiously homophobic mother and I had never known a gay person personally. I wasn't "anti" but I just didn't get it. It took knowing Adam to get it. Then his love story really solidified it for me. But we all come from different places and we shouldn't feel bad for where we are in the process of life. I think everyone here is changed in some way because of Adam. There are so many messages to learn from him. One of them is complete acceptance of things that are different from you. I would be willing to bet that there are more fans here that have learned and grown from this message, than could say they haven't. kay, thank you very much, you say many important things!

When someone says "why don't you/they get it" or "why is this so difficult to understand" or "what is wrong with those cray-crays" you are attacking others' taste and/or intelligence. The emphasis has moved from the opinion or dissension of the speaker to the taste or intelligence of the other. I am sure that is not what was meant but it sure is what often gets heard. jmho :-) Always very wise mszue . Glad to see you posting more BB!
