There is a message Icon above the "Add tags" on "Post Reply" but you also have to enter a message to post it.
I used "Thumbs Up" there are several, check them out! Thumbs Down Exclamation Point Question Mark the standard smiles: Laugh Cry Sad Wink Angry Cheesy
ETA: when I used "quote" I got the Thumbs Up icon in the headline of the post. See below:

I wish there was a "like" button on posts as Facebook has. Often I want to express appreciation for a post yet it's WAY late in the conversation so I don't reply. I completely agree.. there are so many times when someone types out a comment that makes me go... "YEAH... EXACTLY" but then I have nothing to say in response. :-/ I'm kind of lame. LOL I hate just typing MTE or ITA and waste space on the page and cause someone to scroll.

??? (I can not translate, but it would be fun to know what that means)An expression in English is "how 'bout those Yankees (a team)" or "how 'bout the weather". It basically means, what do you think about ____? It was a reference to mys*&@^#r who said she hoped we would be talking about Adam's penis when she returned kay thank you for your response. I wanted to know for what all was laughing... (stupid me)

On the other hand, there would be people whining about how no one liked their post, so we would end up liking everyone's posts and, lo and behold, we're right back on the 'let's not hurt anyone's feelings' track.

Only one small thing more about the response that I forgot. Posting an a board that has a lot of people participating cannot be about the response, it should be about the great possibility offered to participate in expressing views or bringing some info to the table or something like that. We read and enjoy the posts even though we don't always respond. And if there is no response to a question, maybe no one present knows or maybe it is a question that will resolve itself in a short while if we stick around. It is nice if you get some positive feedback but it is not the end of the world if the discussion moves on. ...now back to read the thread...

LOL Exactly, for our non-English speakers, "how 'bout them Yankees," etc. is a funny way to change the subject when things get too heated.
