If I really wanted to talk about an issue that bothers me, I'd bring up the fact that Adam announced publicly that the backups singers' nickname is the Vajayjays. But I don't want to add more dissension to the board today, and I'm hoping that introduction was a one-time thing. But fair warning to other board members, if he mentions it on stage again, then I'm gonna go OFF! yeah, Misha, this really bugged me too, but I haven't mentioned it. I am afraid to say that Adam will use this constantly, as much as he introduced Tommy as "Pretty Kitty". I think he thinks it is cute and funny, and apparently the Diva's don't mind. I do, and think it is demeaning, but I am not them. Unless there is a twitter outcry that Adam catches wind of, I'm afraid we will be stuck with it for the tour. Why do we have to look at it as demeaning? Maybe we should be as proud of our body parts as men are of theirs and view the nickname as a tribute! I saw Jack Black on The Tonight Show the other night, and his new album, Rize of the Fenix (yep, that's the spelling) has cover art that depicts a phoenix rising from a fire--but the bird looks exactly like a penis! Google it yourself and see. Is that demeaning? Hollywood often focuses on sexuality, and while it could be viewed as a childish obsession, I don't think it's necessarily sexist or insulting. I don't believe for a minute that Adam only views these women as sexual objects without appreciating their talent.

Dear ame, let me tell you what has happened to me and what I think about posting here. I hope you still read the board and will post in the future. Most of the time I am sleeping when the discussions go on here and often I catch up so late that it seems pointless to say anything. Sometimes I saw new post "in real time" and wanted to express another view to the topic. I tried to keep my post short in order to not get into vocabulary/phrase structures that might be misinterpreted. That was not a good thing because my post probably seemed blunt and maybe I just chose a wrong word to use which lead to angry responses. I thought that I understood what happened, it must have been because I did not give any background or reasons why. It is also very likely that the anger perceived was not directed to me personally even though I felt discouraged. Later I felt the need to say something and decided to write some background as to why I might have my opinion. That time I quickly got a response denying my experience (which was supposed to be background info only), nothing about my actual opinion, so not a success. Again later I tried to bring up some new aspect related to discussion that was going on. No response at all, maybe I was late. But I suspect that language had a big part to do with it (not a right tone to engage people). Or just that it was not interesting to others. All this is ok, it is just life. We have difficulties in choosing our words and phrases, and also we might not have all the years in fandom that most of the people here have. For example, I honestly did not know that mentioning a certain name would set the hell loose and all I wanted to do was to discuss the sound and what makes a performance most enjoyable to me. Just one word might make the difference and we have no way of knowing what it is. As much as I hope that others could keep an open mind to my posts and not get any preconceptions in their head, that is a lot to expect. I am not better than anybody else in this respect either. I think that we should try to understand each other and not take anything too personally - even if it hurts initally. That is just how it is, we are very different every one and written word might come across the wrong way. Sometimes the response strikes a sensitive chord in ourselves but we have to remember that the responder has no idea of that possibility. My conclusion is that I have a lot to learn how to express myself, both in a foreign language and in accordance to the board rules and conventions. It is a process. And I still don't quite grasp the idea how to formulate a post without mentioning the earlier posters or any names besides Adam, and explaining the background and being short at the same time. And that is not a language thing, only. On the other hand, I find some posts odd but they are far and between. So it seems that we all deal with these problems. Mostly posters are very friendly and understanding which is rare in the web. Above all difficulties, I think that a board like this is a very good thing and my first reaction is not to part with it but learn and grow. Thank you who strive in keeping it a good place to be. I'll get info, pictures, questions, a lot of joy, rants and even disagreements to be part of - and I am sure that nothing said has a malicious intent, only some 'communication disarray' occurring, unfortunately often out of the blue. Thank you for discussing your feelings on this. Obviously it is hard for us, who speak native English, to realize how hard it is for others to express themselves and be sure they are being understood. I think that would drive me crazy. I think that non-native speakers are sometimes too worried about their language skills. We say it all the time, that you guys are doing great, and even those that have "broken english" are still highly valued and their messages get through somehow. I sincerely hope that nobody hesitates to post due to language because it is the international opinions I am most interested in. I have to agree that there is a "culture" on this site and thank you for pointing it out. I have felt it too. It is sometimes hard to enter a room where others: -have been there much longer -are loved by everyone -have their own codes (good god, I stuggle with the accronyms--I can't imagine an non-native speaker) -have non-accepted topics such as NAL (as if it is not ok to say his name. In fact, recently it was stated that we can't compare Adam's career to his like we do others) or the Sauli debate( how much discussion/pictures of him are allowed before we question loyalties), old news (to those who have been her longer) -etc I understand why it is hard for you to feel you know what is considered ok here. BUT, it is also easy to project our insecurities about our language, or in my case, my newness to Adam and ATop,. It is much like being in a VERY large family with differing opinions and personalities. It is easier to be quiet and go unnoticed. But although it might seem like it, nobody wants you to. And even if that loud great-aunt jumps on you when you "break" the norm, or the cool young cousin ignores you and walks away --it doesn't mean you aren't loved and valued by the group. ETA thank you to those that re-explained my explaination of "how 'bout those___". Some are so good at explaining in this family!

you should be able to highlight the URL link, then click on the "Tube" icon in red, and that should make the YT appear in the post. If you go back and look at the content of your post (hit "modify" your post), you will see that the YT bracket is not in the front of the URL, but twice after the URL. Hope this makes sense. It took me a long time to learn to read the codes on here. On the other hand, sometimes they just don't post right, and I don't know why! youtu.be/FZB3srUEFZ4this is what I got when I clicked on the link you posted: is this what you wanted to post? Beautiful!

The term just rubs me the wrong way, I don't think it is cute or funny. Different strokes.................

To those of you who encouraged me to custom frame my Adam-walks-on-water poster: A million thanks. I'll admit once I decided to take the plunge I went a little crazy. But not too much. Got double custom mats, the inner one pure white, and the outer a blue that matches the sleeves of his shirt. Used a plain black narrow frame to not pull focus from the print.
Got the frame today, put the print in, and it is breathtaking. The only drawback? Now i want to repaint the living room to match that glowing sunset orange/yellow/pink sky. Where is that throwing-away-money miley when I need one?

www.pressparty.com/pg/newsdesk/administrator/view/45926/Album Release Gets Adam Lambert Fans in the Party Mood As mid-May approaches, Adam Lambert’s devoted fans around the world are busy organising listening parties to celebrate the release of the star’s long-awaited second album, 'Trespassing'. Fans in the San Francisco area, for example, will be gathering on 15 May (the official US release date) at The Deco Lounge; for more information visit LAMBERTLUST blog. Although UK fans will have to wait until July 2 for the official release of the CD in their territory, they too will be holding a Trespassing listening party on Saturday May 19, almost as soon as the music becomes available to the rest of the planet. The 'UK Trespassing Listening Party' is in central London and is a private event, but open to all fans who register their interest (see below). Starting at 6pm, entry is free, and drinks can be bought from the bar. Fans can come along to listen to the album, which will be playing on a loop, meet other fans and, if they wish, dance, join in with some fun games and quizzes, and maybe even win some prizes. If you would like to attend the 'UK Trespassing Listening Party', please contact the official organisers via Facebook , here or @jeanjenie or @lambritsuk on Twitter. Details of the venue and how to find it will be sent to everyone attending. ...
