Even though Adam is FIERCE, he's also a bit nerdy and niave (immature  ) sometimes. Ditch vjj, and call them what they are... the DIVAs!!  Or..... what Mszue said. (Mszue you're so deep and so wise. I almost wouldn't think you are the same person who owns a delish pair of glam slippers.) 8-) hahaha....and they are beeaauuuttiful, if I do say so myself!! and they are pearl-clutchers...which makes them a peculiarly good fit for this conversation, oddly enough lol |

aloha, thanks for bringing over the context about va-jay-jay, Oprah, etc. I knew there must be a good reason I hated it!  I can't stand that dime-store self-empowerment nonsense. Sorry, I'm a horrible person! I think I'll go hide in a dark hole, suck some raw cookie dough for a couple of hours, and then make for the shallow end to wait for cute, funny, tidbits from today's video shoot. Who will join me?

I don't really like the "vajayjay" nickname, either. I am guessing that the singers probably don't mind it ( maybe they even think it's cool) because I don't think Adam would ever call his singers a nickname they were uncomfortable with. However, it gives me second-hand embarrassment; mostly I don't think it's cute, funny, or even particularly clever. I just find it totally uncool (in a face-palm kind of way) and kind of nerdy. But, what I think really doesn't matter, lol. And it's SO not a big deal. And I'm not offended by it at all, just some second-hand embarrassment is all. Just my opinion. Eta---I don't like it in the same way I hate the "glambulge" term. Don't hate me. |

Yes, but I also said, "it's a bigger issue than just them and impacts more than just them when he's announcing it on a public stage in front of thousands." If others aren't offended it's their perfect right to say so, just as I stated my opinion. I didn't say that I expected Adam to adhere to my social standards or that I expect (or desire) in any way to dictate his actions or the way he expresses himself. I said that if he used the term again that I'd vehemently voice my objection to it. But I lied, and didn't wait that long. Adam is the only one who can control what he says and does. Maybe he will consider other people's thoughts on the matter and drop the new name if he feels there's any merit to their views. I wasn't offended by what he said (Adam has never offended me) so by the same token that you will vehemently voice your objection to it I will vehemently defend Adam's right to say and do whatever he wants. I guess my question is why does Adam need to consider the thoughts and feelings of thousands of people over a nickname coined for his back up singers if in fact his back up singers have no issue with the nickname? Adam can't take into account the merits of his fans thoughts on every little thing he does and says otherwise he'll never do or say anything for fear of offending someone. Someone, somewhere will ALWAYS be offended. |

I've been scrolling over the longish posts recently because of a shortage of time. Today I read every one and I see that I've been missing so much. Ironically the last post I read (quoted below) is the one I most agree with. I am not easily offended generally and certainly not over the term vajayjay. Someone, somewhere will ALWAYS be offended. If the ladies are offended I'm certain they will let him know and that will be the end of it. Adam never knowingly offends anyone - especially his friends. |
