Trespassing Deluxe Itunes Overall: Belgium #14, Finland #42, Netherlands #27, Norway #13 C'mon USA! FFSWhat? So "Adult Top 40" is HAC? And the impact date is 5/28? I thought there was no impact date for HAC? And the impact date for CHR is still 5/29 I guess. I'm confused. And why would they push him to HAC rather than CHR? I loved the BB article tho. They say why right there in the article. It's his strongest format because it is women 18-34. I actually think that is a good thing because the general meme for Idol would have you think he doesn't have any fans under 40. They are aiming for the strongest area first and hoping to expand his audience as they go along. They haven't abandoned CHR, they state that he visited mainstream stations too aren't several of those radio concerts for CHR stations? The biggest thing I get from this article is that they are considering him a "new artist" and not an already established star. This is a really GOOD thing because it means that they have REALISTIC expectations for his performance and not inflated expectations due to him having been on Idol. Rather than thinking of Idol as having already "broken" him as an artist they are thinking of it as a past promotional platform that has SOME carry over but they realize that it is not going to guarantee big sales on a follow up album. That right there tells me that we can relax at least about RCA and their expectations. They obviously don't expect him to burn up the charts based on his Idol history from three years ago.

I agree realism is sooo good right now. IMHO, RCA & Adam's management sound like they are building Adam into an International artist with a long career. Not an over night flash in the pan star from IDOL.All sounds so smart.. deep breath , I'm feeling calm.

I was thinking about this this afternoon. I have been worried about the album sales in Canada. I feel much better after I read the BB article.

I just think Adam needs to do promo in Canada. He did so much after FYE, or at least it seemed like he had a pretty heavy week of it, I remember some huge MTV thing in Toronto. After the promo he really blew up there.

After the promo he really blew up there. I'm pretty sure I saw several Canada promo dates were scheduled. They seem to be keeping things secret as usual.

After the promo he really blew up there. Well we know about the Montreal promo prize, this morning there was a Seacrest interview with Adam plugging the new album heard on CIBK Calgary Top 40, shoshanna has said 'yes' when asked if there will be any special events for Canada, and just in the last few days a couple of more stations started spinning. The jumping up and down a place or two on Canadian HAC doesn't mean anything because there is a group of songs that are separated by a handful of spins at most, they are going to change places a bit until some separate from the pack. Newest spinners in Canada: CHUB Red Deer Hot AC CKIS Toronto Top 40 CHIK Quebec City Top 40 (French) CIBK Calgary Top 40 station had Ryan album plug/interview and also from a day or two earlier: CFJO: Thetford Mines, Quebec French Top 40 (unmonitored?) CHIX Quebec City Top 40 CHOZ St. Johns Hot AC CIRR Toronto Top 40

I see the Glee album is #45 on Pop & Trespassing is #53. Same release date. Don't know if that means much as iTunes album sales are not large % of total.
On Overall chart - Glee is #189. Tsp not in top 200. Also - Garbage is #84 & Rize of Fenix (never heard of them) is #134. All with 5/15 release dates.
Tsp fell to #15 on Amazon *Was up to #10 yesterday). Glee is #21.
I don't know what any of this means or whether we can extrapolate. But I felt like checking anyway.

It's honestly very hard for me to even take a stab at a guesstimate as there are too many unknown variables. Say Adam experiences what I've read is a typical 70% second idol album decrease in opening numbers (and I don't even know if that is a reliable percentage, I haven't checked the math), that puts him opening around 65k or a little lower. I'm not really expecting this, but thinking it's reasonable to go a bit lower than this as a low-end estimate. This could still put him in the top 10 or top 5 releases possibly, but it's difficult to say as some of the other non-pop releasers his week have done very well in the past. I'm just gonna wait and see until first day numbers start coming in, and then probably wait and see some more lol.
