It's honestly very hard for me to even take a stab at a guesstimate as there are too many unknown variables. Say Adam experiences what I've read is a typical 70% second idol album decrease in opening numbers (and I don't even know if that is a reliable percentage, I haven't checked the math), that puts him opening around 65k or a little lower. I'm not really expecting this, but thinking it's reasonable to go a bit lower than this as a low-end estimate. This could still put him in the top 10 or top 5 releases possibly, but it's difficult to say as some of the other non-pop releasers his week have done very well in the past. I'm just gonna wait and see until first day numbers start coming in, and then probably wait and see some more lol. when do these first numbers usually come in? |

Predictions should be out Tuesday or Wed. I wonder why predictions for
you all are so low when Cook did 46,000 but doesn't have a fanbase anywhere near as big or as supportive with $$ as Glamberts?
IDK, I am thinking closer to 100K and maybe slightly over?

Just thinking out loud here...maybe, the sales figures from the singles have put damp on some of our expectations, albeit factoring not enough radio support for BTIKM and the promo hasn't really taken off for NCOE yet. Like Q3 pointed out one time that it seems like Adam has millions of fans, but sometimes, the sales don't necessary reflect that, for whatever reason. (sorry, Q3, I'm paraphrasing you here, hope you don't mind.) I hope for 100K, but will be very pleased with anything higher than 65K...fingers & toes crossed! |

Well, I originally posted this in the news thread and...decided to delete it and re-post it here. It might be a bit off-putting for some people, I mean, my idea, but it was just some fruit for thought so here it goes: "Q3, or anybody else with more knowledge about radio, marketing biz, wouldn't mind answering a burning question of mine? I am a rock chick at heart, but I'm also happy and supportive of whatever Adam's little heart desires; I used to be a club kid myself in my twenties so, thumping, sweating dance music are my jam too!:-) no tomatoes, please! Here goes my question: is it possible that the label could send "Runnin" to the rock station to garner some more attention to the album and new fans as well? gawd! that song deserves being blasted on the radio, big time!!!" Thanks in advance for your thoughts! |

Thanks in advance for your thoughts! Probably not. Adam and his team aren't really trying to market him as a rock guy this era. Plus, promotion to radio stations costs money- money that could be spent trying to get Adam's HAC/CHR singles more radio play. Other AI contestants signed to RCA have tried the two song release strategy in the past and it hasn't worked too well. They tried it with Daughtry this era with limited success and he is considered to be more "rock" than Adam. Rock radio is even more resistant to Idols than HAC and CHR stations are. Anything COULD happen, but I can't see them throwing money and time into sending a song to Rock radio. Stranger things have happened, but I haven't seen or heard anything from Adam this era that suggests that this is a direction that he or RCA is interested in. |
