I have NO idea which interview I was watching, but it was one done quite awhile back. Adam stated that the album would be out in the Spring. It caught my attention because it is now obviously for a Fall release. I guess at first they had hoped to get it done sooner. I'm glad he is taking his time so he can get it just the way he wants it. From the post earlier Kellys is done and they are just waiting. Imagine that is hard for her fans.

Someone posted part of Brian Mansfield's answer to a fan, here is the whole piece
USA TODAY Staff Brian Mansfield wrote: 1h 59m ago @kiki16 I really think it varies from case to case, to some degree. That said, I also think it's a mistake to go into the music business these days thinking you're going to make money of the sales of albums and DVDs. So the real question here becomes: Does this practice make sense for Adam right now? I think it does. Here's why:
1) Adam has shown that he has a sizable core audience that wants to spend money on him. And they don't just spend money so they can own his products. Some of them take what I call an "activist" approach to their purchases: They spend their money with the specific intent of supporting Adam, whether it's to help him reach a sales goal or to give to a charity that he recommends. So those fans are going to buy the new product no matter how much is available for free. You could post all of "Glam Nation Live" on Vevo and air it on cable five nights a week, and they'd still buy the DVD.
2) As big a deal as Adam is within the Idol world, he's still an emerging artist in the grand scheme of things. There are more potential music buyers who don't listen to his music than there are that do. And there are a lot of people who, even if they paid attention to Idol. don't really know what he's been up to since then. But Adam's team has learned that if you make somebody an Adam Lambert fan, chances are good they'll be a fan with their pocketbook or their wallet. So the trick is making potential fans aware and getting them converted. Free product makes that much easier. And since there are fan-made videos of pretty much all of his performances online anyway, why not give people the high-quality version to make the case? I'd think it'd be much easier to be wowed by a multi-camera, professionally edited video clip than it would be something shot on a Flip video camera from Row M.
If you know somebody's going to be a flash in the pan, it makes squeezing out every short-term dollar more important. But if you're dealing with somebody you expect to be around for the long haul, you can afford to give away more, because you know you're going to make it up on the back end. In other words, if somebody doesn't buy the DVD now, but they do buy a concert ticket and a T-shirt next year, then Adam's team is still ahead of the game.

OT, but what does this mean? Kelly Clarkson I recently found out that my album won't be coming out until September ....the album has been recorded but I can't release it until then. I realize that is a long time but that's the best time to release it apparently so I'm sorry for the wait but I promise you it sounds great! It means this is her last album, per her RCA contract, and they are being shitheads by delaying its release. They know she wants to leave them for her next albums. :(

avoiding RL for a moment (need to get back into my own studio, but not feeling it...) I'd love Adam collaborations w/ the following for songwriting and maybe singing: Sia Janelle Monae (plus she could be a "featuring" rapper) Ceelo Nikki Costa Adele Pink Jesse J I like all of these suggestions, especially the first two (though I think Pink may be a little too similar vocally--it seems like radio thinks opposites attract). Can't get excited about a Mars or Kesha collab, although I can see how the Mars collab could be a marketing win. Along these lines, though, B.O.B has been collab-gold this past year, so that might be an interesting mix for Adam. Don't think this will be a popular suggestion so I make it somewhat meekly, but I think there could be a totally sexy Rihanna collaboration--something about my imagined appearance of the two of them together, tall and a little androgynous and all long long legs and powerful, spikey shoulder pads, maybe even sporting the same the same androgynous hair do, lol, feels like it would present an new kind of sexy to the pop world, one where sexy is sexy and gender is bendy and masculine and feminine mix, and i think it could be really hot. Plus we know Adam likes her. Finally, of all the acts Adam has introduced me to, I've fallen for the Scissor Sisters the hardest--I love their music--and I think that would be a terrific, if less market-friendly, collaboration. I really like rabbitrabbit's list. I would be happy with any one of them. MWP, I know that not everyone here is enthusiastic about Rihanna, but I like her. She's got the drive, the attitude and the 'sex is not the enemy' message that would mesh with Adam really well. I also like her voice and her songs have great hooks. Another thing I like about her that her songs are clearly meant for adults and have more complex - even darker themes. She is also current and gets radio play. I also like the Scissor Sisters. A collaboration with them would be fun.
