Certification is albums shipped. It is for everyone. Same rules. RCA and Adam have been paid, already, for albums shipped. Many albums get certified Gold or Platinum early. The retaill sales will happen when Trespassing comes out. I knew that about the certification was for albums shipped but I thought I heard that with Adam, they were gonna be more stringent and go by actual sales. I'm just not excited. Taylor Hicks is certified platinum. :( I guess I don't understand what Taylor Hicks or any other idol or singer has to do with Adam and his numbers? Not arguing, just don't get it. |

In an election year, no less! Adam isn't the only one with balls of steel!!!!!!!!  ITA! The respect that I already had for President Obama was just elevated to a whole new level. Obama is my "Adam" in the political world!  |

A Rolling Stone review holds much more weight than EW. Rolling Stone is huge. I can't even find EW magazine anymore. I mean, I'm sure it is in bookstores and such, but it's not in the check-out lines at grocery stores like People, US, RS, etc.

Wait a minute - Platinum certified For Your Entertainment? Did I miss something? Or can I start a happy dance? I checked RIAA and it still says Gold Certification. I believe they are probably referring to WW sales. Newest fgures for FYE CD as of 4/10/2012: Adam Lambert, For Your Entertainment (rounded off) the total is---------------------------- 837,000* . I hope the many people discouraged, frustrated, angry and depressed by yesterday's NC vote (I was) are somewhat heartened by the President's words today (I am). Oh, and as for Adam feeling "sooooo happy" about folks loving "Trespassing" - that is wonderful to think about! |

Maybe they decided to certify FYE platinum because they are anticipating a pick-up in sales with the release of Trespassing.

Hi all. Have been listening to the stream over and over today and got to wondering whether any of you had any thoughts about why so many of the songs seem to have the instrumental or wailing-type bridges (OOL, Broken English, Naked Love, NCOE)? Cassie (and anyone else), do you think that is something Adam does because only HE can really pull that off? I was just curious, as I only noticed it after listening so many times in a row and noticed it. (Thanks to anyone who answers, from someone who love music, but is not musically inclined!) Lol, this was the first thing that I noticed when I heard the full versions, and not going to lie, it literally pissed me off. And I started gravitating more towards the songs that had bridges. Naked Love, which was my first love, went drastically down after the non-existent bridge. Don't hate on me, but this is my only complaint with the album. The non words, or only two-three words bridges, makes the songs a little less appealing to me for some of the songs. I just keep thinking how better Cuckoo, Trespassing, NCOE and Naked Love could be if the bridges were worked in better. But for Broken English and Chokehold, the limp bridge works, but for the faster songs, not so much. Adam's fortunate though, that the songs and the album as a whole is so good and strong, so he can get by with having this "flaw" Alright...come throw stones at me.... Haha...I so happy to read this (thought it was only me)....not of fan of that type of bridge treatment, and you're right, Adam uses it A LOT. He obviously loves doing that, so much so it might become his signature.  My theory is that he knows he has a tremendous instrument in his voice and he wants to use it as such (an instrument).....not many singers could get away with it. |
