This is a huge step from Obama, still not a right guaranteed by the constitution, but a huge step. The president stressed that this is a personal position, and that he still supports the concept of states deciding the issue on their own...Obama has endorsed marriage equality federalism—not the notion that marriage for gays and lesbians is a fundamental right guaranteed by the Constitution that can never be taken away. Obama has adopted the same position that Vice President Dick Cheney did in 2004, when Cheney said he believed in marriage equality but that the states should be allowed to decide by a show of hands, as North Carolina did Tuesday, whether gays and lesbians have the same rights as everyone else." www.motherjones.com/mojo/2012/05/....lity-federalismHmm . . . now, not QUITE as heartened as earlier :-/ . . . but thank you for making this distinction clear. He is the first US President to ever state he supports gay marriage, and in an election year. Presidents have to play the game even more than pop stars do. We can't blame him for that. This is serious progress!

Which is really bizarre, because during idol they called him the most exciting thing to ever set foot on that stage. WTF? Well, not everyone is gonna love this. And a positive RS review counts for about 50 lesser publication reviews, which is how I think of EW. Whenever I see a shit review of our man, our Zeus in a thong, I remember that there are so many horrible reviews of pop stars musical efforts, and yet those people sell out concerts and have devoted fans and pick up more followers all the time. I mean, if Brittany Spears can sell millions of records and can't really sing, then I think Adam will do just fine without EW's endorsement Still hurts. Isn't this the first negative review? Clearly they are deaf and have a vendetta against him. Sorry but a B- is not a "negative" review. It's still above average. Anyone recall what they gave FYE? eta: nevermind I found it...they gave FYE a B+ okay...they are idiots

Yea! I got my Amazon Canada order this afternoon. I listened to it from start to finish for the first time (twice). What surfaced the most for me was:
1. How intelligent this album is. A PhD of pop.
2. How he can feature his voice like an additional instrument. Totally agree with Durberville's comment that "he knows he has a tremendous instrument in his voice and he wants to use it as such (an instrument).....not many singers could get away with it."

We are going to get some idiotic music reviews. I'm prepared for this, especially from those reviewers that loved "rawk Gawd" Adam. A review from Rolling Stone HeWhoCannot ameds a review from EW x 1,000!!! Music is so subjective, anyways. After reading the reviews for Jack White's album, I tracked down the songs and listened to them. Needless to say, it was NOT my type of music. I tried, but nothing about JW's voice or musical style appealed to me in any way. This is the same type of situation that will happen if Trespassing continues to get great reviews from respected music publications. Music listeners and people who are open to new music will go and take a listen to Adam's new album. If it is the type of music they listen to they might just purchase a song or two, the whole album, or perhaps become new fans!

I think I've basically been hiding a bit from politics. No more hiding. Thanks all for the infos, but I don't want to hijack thread from Adam, so I will add . . . that lollipop story is truly the sexiest/funniest/sweetest thing! Adam sure sounds like HE's got game!
