I did not cancel my EW subscription but when the time came to renew, I did not. This was well over a year ago, probably closer to two. I was sick of the barbs they throw at Adam....how many times can you put someone in the "miss" space (last page, hit or miss)! EW has not said anything positive about Adam since Idol. The divide in this country scares the hell out of me....it just keeps getting wider and deeper. Hopefully the supreme court will come back with a decision that will take this out of the state's hands. Living in Florida, in the middle of the bible belt, I probably couldn't even find an organization that would be working for Obama.....I miss my Massachusetts home! My EW subscription runs until December 2013, and I enjoy the magazine except for the anti-Adam trend it's shown lately. I thought about cancelling it, but probably won't. They're entitled to their opinion, however wrong it is! ************************************* Despite the Supreme Court's 1967 decision that banning racially mixed marriages is unconstitutional, Alabama didn't officially overturn their law against such unions until November 2000! Even now, 21% of GOP voters in that state think interracial marriage should be illegal. How sad and disgusting is that? I don't have much hope for this Supreme Court as it is now to declare laws against same-sex marriage unconstitutional, but it doesn't make sense to me to leave this up to the states. That would mean that if a gay couple gets married in a state that allows gay marriage and then moves to a state that doesn't, they would no longer be considered married. Plus there are federal protections provided by marriage, as with taxes. This must become a federal issue. |
