Vikkisusanne -- Wonderful letter! All those who have written what they feel, have posted letters, tweets, sent emails, etc. -- I think you are great! I managed to send a few tweets and read a number of the comments to that article (so many of the comments were much more articulate than the review, btw). You guys rock! This response reminds me of the day that I posted a call to equal rights (with a video from Cory Booker, the mayor of Newark, NJ) on my facebook page and my gay cousin (in a 26 year relationship) commented on how much that meant to him. It warms my heart!  |

Finally caught up. It was such fun reading everyone's reaction to Trespassing and the wonderful reviews over the past couple of days. Then, tonight I read the EW review and felt all the blood rush to my head and I wanted to scream. I was livid. I then went and read every comment posted at EW and here in response and felt much better. I'm glad that I'm part of a fan group that clearly understands how horrible that review was. Then I had a feeling that the review was posted intentionally to get hits to the site because I can't imagine how an editor was let such a review be published. Trash.
On different note, I was glad to see some of you are starting to appreciate Take Back. I love this song and play it repeatedly because, IMO, I think Adam shows us more of himself in this song than all of the others. He's telling us everything about this lost relationship, the highs and the lows, the regrets. There is so much sadness in this song. This one truly breaks my heart.

I knew that about the certification was for albums shipped but I thought I heard that with Adam, they were gonna be more stringent and go by actual sales. I'm just not excited. Taylor Hicks is certified platinum. :( Because 1 million shipped for him! 1 million shipped means that the label sold 1 million units. It has nothing to do with retail sales. Soundscan retail sales is not comparable and does not include about 10% of total sales. % varies by artist. |
