Just want to clarify a few things: First of all, lots of copies have been already been dispatched. We don't know anything about copies being available on ebay. This Chelsea interview was much better. She continues to be a little hung-up on "the gay," and not just in terms of Adam, but overall it was much more comfortable. So, very cool, fun interview, and Adam was as awesome as always.

Really enjoyed your conversation, Aleksandra and Anjalee!!Anjalee, this line made me LOOL: It doesnt mean we wouldnt find our common humanity if we were both caught in the deathstar garbage compactor, but in the meantime, I'm keeping my gaze as much as possible on the people who I resonate with!A+++ I totally get what you're saying too, Aleksandra, I think that's why the review irked me so badly (besides the idiotic gay stuff), but to mock a person who is exposing their deepest vulnerabilities in their art was so childish to me. Like a pre-pubescent pointing and laughing at someone they see kissing for the first time. How could she be so ridiculous? ZERO emotional depth. I wonder when she reviewed Adele's album she said, "Why so glum? Take some Midol and go make cookies." : :  |

I don't think EW particularly cares if they offended anyone with that review. They are probably laughing about it. If this was any other publication, I might be more mad, but EW is really light-weight and kind of trashy. They seem to be all about offensive snark and making fun of celebs and I don't think people take this mag very seriously. And I never see the mag anymore. I mean, I would have to go actively looking for it, it doesn't just jump out at you in the grocery store check-out like People or US, even.

There were reportedly 1500 complaints to ABC regarding Adam's performance on the AMAs in 2009. Well, at this time, the little "review" in EW online has garnered 1229 comments, almost all of them protesting the insulting "gay" comments. That is only the online comments, not the emails or letters to the editor. Yet, I have seen no reporting of this article and the furor it has caused. And no response from EW. I don't necessarily want this to get huge press coverage. Best to just express our opinions and let it go. But, part of me is irked by this double standard. If you know what I mean. Unless the loss in revenue from cancelled subscriptions is more than the income from increased internet hits, this "critic" will probably be praised or given a bonus. I guess it's all about the money with outfits like this. |
