Reposting this again over here. This is probably already answered, but am I seeing this right? I was like wow, I wanted him to be closer to the end, more of a headliner. But I'm seeing that, other then Wallpaper and Flo Rida, Adam has the longest time slot, at 35 minutes. Wallpaper is 40 minutes and Flo Rida is 35 minutes as well. Everyone else either have 20-25 minutes at the most. I guess Adam is the headliner for the first half. I'm stoked ;D This is the 2nd of 3 concerts Adam is doing in a row. His management requested the early time slot so he has time to get to NY that night.

I am so sad I won't be able to watch Adam on AI with all of you and squee with you in real time tomorrow! I will be flying to NYC at the same time that Adam performs, and all weekend I'll be really busy with my son's NYU graduation events, but here is some pre- squeeing at least. What will Adam wear? How will he present the song? And how will I ever manage and contain my curiosity and excitement until landing? I leave L.A. at 4:00 p.m., so it will be pretty late NY time before I reach my hotel. The minute I'm off the plane, you can bet I'll at least briefly check on line to see the reaction. Fingers crossed for everything good to align in the universe for Adam this time around! I hope he blows everyone away!!!

I took a trip to my local Target & Best Buy tonight (suburbia north of San Francisco) - both stores are in the same shopping center, both stores were offering sale prices on Adam's CD's of $9.99 regular and $12.99 deluxe.
First went to Target - prominent endcap display - 0 copies of deluxe, 2 copies of regular - I went to look for a clerk and asked him about the deluxe - he scanned the barcode and said they expected 10 more copies tonight. Then he said "you could always download it from a torrent" - I stared at him blankly. I believe he thought I didn't know what he meant so he started to explain it, but I said I'll come back tomorrow. WTF - he was telling me to illegally download rather than come back and purchase it from the store he works for!!! (I can't decide if I should call the Manager of the store or not - it's a dilemma because I've had many an argument with my own son about this issue).
I bought a regular CD from Target leaving only 1 on the shelf - I figure I wanted a regular one just for the alternate cover haha.
Over to Best Buy next: - they had plenty of copies of both - maybe 10 each couldn't tell if any had been purchased. I bought 3 deluxe there to give as gifts. Our Best Buy has remodeled and they put the music in the back corner - and there's only one shelving unit! And the new releases are facing the back corner, not even the aisle - nobody would see it unless you were looking.
At least Target, while the music department has shrunk to just one shelving unit, has it right near the entrance so you pass by going in or out. I noticed that Target doesn't even have Adam's past music - they seem to only have a newer release pop section only.
I also stopped at the local stereo store (only 1 left in town) to try to purchase a needle for my old turntable from 1978. I found out the needle was really expensive and I wouldn't even be able to hook my turntable up to my receiver because the newer receivers don't necessarily have a "phono in" and place to put the grounding wire.
So I also bought a new turntable that can be used with my new receiver - I'm crazy! But I gotta say, listening to the vinyl was very satisfying - love the sound the needle makes at the beginning and end of the record - brought me back.................

Sigh. I'm really debating whether to post and I'll prolly end up deleting this, but I normally really like LA Weekly articles and this one really disappoints me. First, the copout by the writer to go to the Glambert route. That's shorthand from a hipper-than-thou rock writer to say that Adam appeals to women of a certain age and therefore his cred is questionable. Note how many times you hear a dj say to Adam that his mom was so excited that the dj was going to be interviewing him. It allows the dj to retain the idea that he isn't a fan--just his mom. Then the use of the "c" word--whether it's with an "ie" or whatever. It's an off-limits word to me the same way the n word is to black ppl or the f word is to gay ppl. Being a gay man doesn't give him the right to use disparaging terms for woman.
Ok, rant done. And, mods, delete if you don't want the convo to go here. I'm squeeing with the rest of you abt the album. Freaking LOVE it. I can't even describe the joy it brings me and the ridiculous happiness and fun y'all have brought me with this board. Still remember when I discovered PF went poof (during drive from Louisville FYE show I seem to recall).
Can NOT wait for AI tomorrow and to see what happens on charts!! I so want good things to happen.

I don't know, maybe I have been in LaLa land for too long, but I would say Idol has to account for at least 20,000 purchases! Add that to the prediction of 80,000 and we get 100,000. I am still saying over 100,000. Dream big, right! ABSOLUTELY 100,000, BABY!!!
