The Nielsen SoundScan Building Chart is more than a guess -- if its sales for the first 4 days of the week and a forecast for the rest of the week. It is almost right in rank. Sometimes a bit off on the sales units. But not time to celebrate. Q3... 1. Are Amazon and AO sales numbers count as well? 2. If you buy the box set with an LP and a CD are they counted as 2 units? The building charts are just a forecast and do not include Amazon or Play.com which operates AO.com. Amazon and AO.com sales count for the Billboard and RIAA. Regarding the LP CD box sets, I believe that they count as one unit. I will research it tomorrow.

I'm developing a strange affection for both of the leopard/star shirts. ;D I love that leopard/star shirts on him from the beginning, especially the long sleeve he wore on the iHeartradio. He looked so gorgeous on it and Adam's wearing other color than just black, brown, blue or grey.. LOL EXACTLY! That's why I like that shirt.

Wow, Amazon is surprisingly low. I would have thought Walmart would be on the list as a big album retailer. I wish I still had the article, so I could post the actual top 10, but Walmart was not one of them. Target was #3 at 7%. That is about all I remember though. Is this the article? It looks like the original might be locked on the Billboard site unless you're a subscriber, but here's a reprint: iTunes Remains Largest US Music Seller For Fifth YearIf someone places an online order for a CD at the end of this week, and it ships on Friday or Saturday but isn't scheduled to arrive until the next week, does it still count for this week's sales? It seems that for preorders, the "scheduled to arrive" date is the date that counts, so I wondered if the same applies for all orders.

The Nielsen SoundScan Building Chart is more than a guess -- if its sales for the first 4 days of the week and a forecast for the rest of the week. It is almost right in rank. Sometimes a bit off on the sales units. But not time to celebrate. Question: Is Amazon including in this "building chart"? I don't see it listed or does it fall under one of those "odd" names like Trans World or Anderson Merchandisers?? The Building Chart reflects the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week (which ends Sunday) as reported by six major merchants: iTunes, Trans World Entertainment, Best Buy, Starbucks, Target and Anderson Merchandisers. Billboard estimates that they make up about 85% of all U.S. album sales.Isn't Amazon a big album retailer? No? www.amerch.com/Anderson Merchandisers has recently acquired physical music distribution rights from Sony DADC, the physical manufacturing and distribution arm of Sony DADC. The purchase means the vast majority of physical music sold in America will soon reach customers through Anderson. So they do Kroger, and other stores, maybe even Walmart.] The one in the list that threw me for a loop was starbucks. They only have about 30 albums in their online store. www.starbucks.com/coffeehouse/entertainment What would the coffeehouse be without great music? Well it wouldn’t be Starbucks, for one thing. We’re just as passionate about music as we are about coffee. That’s why we handpick all the tunes you hear in our stores. We take pride in creating unique compilations you can’t find anywhere else. Because helping people discover their next favorite artist or recording is one of our favorite things to do.
