I just listened to an interview with Katy Perry concerning he 3D movie. She sounds like a little girl on drugs. I guess when you pander to tweens and teens, you become one. I guess my point is, you don't have to be talented to be a star. You have to be at the right place at the right time and pander to certain age groups. It's cool to be a bieber or a KP fan. It's not so cool to be a AL fan. I think Adam got caught up in the British invasion of ID, also the success of Fun and the Wanted with the Biebs thrown in there. Then of course Adam Levine with his inane songs. I think his single and album came out at the wrong time. It should have been Feb and I think it would have gotten the traction. "Should of" is always a compelling idea but there is no knowing if that "would have" worked. From my heart (we both went through that piece of karma) to yours - I hope you let it go. Enjoy the ride. It is what it is. I look at like this - my job is to use my free will to do what I can to effect a positive outcome now and in the near future. I can't use my free will to change the past.

Adam will stick...he is REAL.. he is not flavor of the moment artist... HE IS REAL... the funny thing is that I have never met a live person who admitted to being Bieb's fan or admitted even listening to him... seriously...that is the reason I asked Glampoon about Biebs - i.e. Glampoon IS the first person I am in touch with (albeit virtually) who actually likes Biebs... I don't hang around young teens, but old teens are in droves at my place... I have not taken a temperature on 1D as I just found out about them here a couple of days ago... I suspect it is the same... ..where am I going with this? I have no idea... i just KNOW that Adam will be fine. One way or another. Radio or no radio. He is here on purpose.

I understand your point. With radio, how many are truly voting consistently day in and day out. It was only until there were requests because this is a critical juncture in radio play that some started to vote. I have worked my fingers to the bone on so many radio stations, and vote in every poll conceivable, and do Q102 daily from the beginning. I am starting to get burned out. Other artists don't go thru as many paces. I just wonder if there is enough us to change the tides. A lot of peeps spend a lot of time on twitter. I just wonder how many of them do the voting to make a difference. I have let it go. I am using my free will to do what I can. I just feel it is not enough.

I am so grateful to you and everyone else that has the conviction and follow through to do all they can to help. But some very wise people have taught me that I should do what I can for what I believe in and that is all I can do other than pray! If it is not enough, it is not enough but at least the heart is clear that everything within one's power has been done What is not in our power to do or change is best not to angst over. I remember in the 2008 election, I was freaking out and glued to the polls and moaning and then I remembered that this was not going to help. When that angst came over me, I did phone canvassing. It felt much better to be contributing rather than worrying. So I decided to apply this to Adam. When that wave of worry comes, I vote. If I have voted all I can, I just let it rest. I did what I could. It is best to be even or better still thrilled with the great things that are happening. I strongly believe that Adam has the karma to be what we hope he will. I see it in the stars even with the obstacles which will inevitably be there.

I had a house full of beautiful college sorority girls who were talking about going to get Justin Bieber's album at midnight. I'm not sure what happened, but the Biebs is now popular with the older girls as well as the younger ones. (I'm referencing girls who listen to Pop music and Pop radio.) 1D? Same thing with these girls and all my daughter's college friends- only 10x more!

Same thing with these girls and all my daughter's college friends- only 10x more! Ok, just did a poll with my DS and his firends( three 18-19 year old boys) and my DD - just graduated college re Biebs. ALL of them looked at me like I am crazy even asking ..my DS said that he is sad my Adam madness got me as far as talking about Biebs... (OK, I agree with him there... ) DD said she knows NOONE who likes him. 1D front was even worse: my DD suggested we can google 1D and find out what they are... ... after that all the kids shrugged their shoulders... disclaimer: they shrug their shoulders at Adam as well. They DO losten to music, the reason I have the premium Spotify is my DS - he insisted on subscribing so he can listen on his phone... so now both of the kids are listening to something on Spotify all the time.... obviously I am living in a different world... and obviously Biebs is adored by enough people to make him what he is... I just don't come across these people...

My son is 16, and just mentioning the Beebs, he flips out. He wants his money so he can have the same cars tht the Beebs has though.
My daughter is into classic rock and the Dave Mathews Band.

Two of my sons are in their twenties and huge fans of heavy industrial rock. The youngest one also loves new wave music. So, even to ask about Beeber would be like "what?". So, I know the answer. I wish to share with them my Adam fondness but unfortunately so far it is fruitless. They admit his great vocal ability but his music is not their cup of tea. But my oldest son was impressed with EMA performance, so there is always a hope.
Smokeyvera I completely understand how you feel. Recently I felt the same - completely burnt out. Sometimes I am asking myself why I am religiously requesting, voting every single day? It feels like my second full time job. The answer is because this talent that comes along once in generation so much deserve it. It is a privilege to witness the greatness in making. And now he needs us the most, he needs our backs! We can not abandon him. Personally, nevertheless I hate all those radio games and stupid US radio itself I will continue to request and to vote religiously every single day with no regrets! I am positive that I am not alone doing it.
Sorry for my messy English writing. I am going back to my cave. But I am always here even I do not post often.

My 17 year old son is also into classic rock, jazz and indie. And what he calls "screemo" metal, which he's played for me and I just think of it as "heavy metal". He rolls his eyes at current pop, but "vintage pop" - 70s, 80s and 90s (lol, lol, that's vintage) is fabulous as well. He never listens to the radio, he accesses all his music online and discovers it online himself and through his friends. He says Adam has a great voice and that he's making great pop music, but he just doesn't like pop (meaning of course the Gagas, Perry, hip hop R&B and co). I asked him whether or not his friends have heard of Adam Lambert and he said, "absolutely". Not just his immediate peer group, but basically his whole year group at school. He said they've all checked out trespassing, because they routinely check out all types of music, including the pop they "don't like" (girls and boys). The only song he likes on Trespassing is Shady, with the retro vibe. I mentioned Nile to him, and he was even more impressed. I mentioned Beebs and 1D to him once, got the eyeroll, so never again.

I can't imagine not having a pleasure of listening to Adam sing and a pleasure of watching him perform. So, I do all I can do to help - and that is mostly requesting and voting and clicking and buying... all of this is a habit now... ;D and I love it! although the BB poll is sooooo annoying! it takes forever to cast a vote...but I am doing it as I am writing this....
