When I read about U.S. radio's conservative bent it makes me feel very hopeless for Adam making it in U.S. pop. RCA takes a lot of heat for not getting him play, but really I feel they are on his side and are probably trying hard, but are hitting a brick wall in the form of Clear Channel's corporate rulers. That is why his UK release is so important.

Are bleeps in the Fun song and Bruno song new? Cause I know I've heard those lines on my local stations. I've known Cumulus to do a little more editing than Clear Channel. I don't know though, it seems to be selective. Radio doesn't seem to have an issue playng songs like "S & M" by Rihanna, which without cursing is still pretty graphic.
As far as complaining, good luck with that. CC and Cumulus own most of the stations in the US. There are no alternatives and they know that. And as much as the tea party conservative types have taken over so much of this country, don't look for things to change anytime soon. In fact, things seem to have gotten even worse since the 80's since the Reagan adminstration and the rise of the religious right.

The bleep is in the new Fun song. And the bleep is recent The only reason I know the song is from listening to this same radio station (not Clear Channel). All of the sudden, a word was missing. :dunno:

Tim Minchin on cenorship... sums up my thoughts better than I can put in words.
"Swearing is kind of everywhere though, isn’t it? These days swearing is everywhere in performance and in media. On the front page of the paper the other day, I read the word “fuck.” I mean, where is society going? It’s fucking terrible. You can use the word fuck in any media and all you have to do is spell it f**k. It’s very sneaky because we all know what it means. Just as surely as the symbols cow signify a female bovine creature, so to does the symbols f**k symbolise fuck. It makes you wonder what the fucking difference is! It’s outrageous. And interestingly, the protection that the word fuck is afforded by the humble asterisk is not applied to other seemingly innocuous words, you know. Which seems hypocritical to me. Take a word like the word finger. Perfectly innocuous word but when used in a sentence such as ‘I want to finger your Mum’ it could be construed by some critics as worthy of censorship. But I tell you what, you spell that f**ger and you won’t get it on the front page of the West Australian! And that’s because it’s the context in which the word is used that makes it offensive. In which case, you might be better of spelling it “I want to finger you M*m."

[/IMG]
Someone probably "complained" about it. Who knows. Like I said, it seems to be selective cause that Fun song is pretty benign. Anything run by a corporation doesn't seem to make much sense.

Radio is really going to become outdated and DEAD.Maybe we'll only have country and Christian rock on the airwaves..

[/IMG]
Just sticking my head in quickly...I heard the Fun song both last night on my local HAC station, which is Clear Channel, and this afternoon on local CHR station, a Cumulus station. Both times I listened for the phrase "getting higher than the empire state." There was no bleep either time, it was left in the song, no editing. So, if it is happening, it must be certain markets or PD's who are doing it. It's not nationwide. And I'm in Dallas, which is a really conservative market.

Just documenting for "posterity" that the Queen online site Anti Adam bashing is not just a handful of Queen peeps but also a handful of American Idol Adam haters who signed up there just for the purpose of trolling and denigrating him.
Proven on Amazon dot com in part, on the JAMES DURBIN forum, the thread called "The Epic Thread" of 2200 posts since April 27th!!!
Singularly to bash Adam, his fans, troll every single review, charting and sales numbers, and mock every single thing including cross posting at MJs.. Of course it's not just that thread, they hijack other Adam Amazon threads with their hate. And they say Glamberts are OOT?
When they discovered the Queen board they ran to sign up, in particular Amazon "Natalie" who chose the Queen username The Milkman. Evidenced on the Amazon thread starting June 17 "Showing 1876-1900 of 2280 posts in this discussion" which turns from reading the QOl forum to actually joining.
Someone on the QOL forum actually accused The Milkman of being a fan of others and she denied it hahaha.
This was discovered by a Glambert on Adam Official and came up on google when I searched the QOL user name of who posted a Lisa Minelli pic because only worsters know that crap.
You couldn't make this stuff UP! LOL Who spends months in a consolidated effort AGAINST someone from a tv show? Oh Idol fans, apparently.
