.... Don't mean to sound like a broken record, but I'm still wondering why we saw no increase in units sold after the final HDD building chart.
No broken record, durberville. I've been waiting for you to get an answer about this too! I thought the number would definitely change (ie. increase) some when Billboard weighed in. HDD is an estimate not an actual total. Sometimes it's up or down depending on how soundscan comes in. It is possible that the retailers numbers were a little lower than estimated and then Amazon kicked in bringing him back up to 77K. We haven't seen the actual soundscan numbers yet, only rounded figures so we don't know exactly how many he sold.

It is about the Trespassing album milestones. Not just any Adam milestone.#1 is only in the US, by they way and is actually not true although widely reported. I thought it was true for a year or so, OK, sorry Q, you always make me think! How about being Executive Producer on his album? Oh good one!!! I have to research that one! But I believe he is the first Idol Alum to get an EP credit!!

I also think some of the articles relaying the 77,000 number mentioned it being from soundscan. IDK. So when will the actual numbers be reported?

Actually, HDD uses the full, exact retail sales from 6 retailes and adds in an estimate for the missing retailers. There are two sources of variances: 1. Sales from the 6 retailers that HDD gets that Soundscan removes -- for example, non-normal sales. 2. The estimated sales for Amazon, AO.com, B&N and the other retailers were off. Frankly it is amazing how well HDD does. What matters is he has the #1 and needs to sell 923K more to reach platinum. Eye on the prize We should listen to Madonna's advice.

Do retailers report their numbers to two different entitites just days apart? HDD has numbers on Tuesday afternoon whereas soundscan doesn't have numbers until Wednesday.
