5 for Top 40 I'll take
BUT some food for thought...next week it's Kelly's impact "add" date for her next single Darkside..Now How many adds for Top 40 do you think Adam will get?
This is why I worry, it's today, the adds should be HIGH next week 'adds' will dribble in.

It really is a good add day! 10 so far, which is all we asked for. 5 of those are Top 40.  It's just the absence of Q and Boston that is putting a damper on it for me. This is Top 40 impact day. While I appreciate the adds from HAC and Canada, what I am looking for is Top 40 adds! I believe people were hoping for 10 CHR adds on CHR impact day, not total adds-including those from Canada. I knew in the back of my mind that doing radio shows doesn't mean adds from that station. I have read this too many times with specific examples over at MJs, but I didn't want to say anything because fans were so convinced that radio shows=adds to the station. This hasn't always been true in the past and it isn't true now in Adam's case. :( I agree..HAC is great and all but he needs CHR adds, that's what sells singles. I know the day isn't over but 5 adds so for on the impact date isn't great. |

Mys*&@^#r, that's why I said "perceived demographic." Adam has young fans. But there is a perception out there that is real. Thank you. There is also a joke that many of the 20 somethings Adam fans have on Twitter when they see pictures of older fans who put themselves front and center at these shows. They will tweet "So much SHE." I finally got one to explain it to me. The younger fans don't have a problem with Adam having older fans. They have a problem with the ones who draw so much attention to themselves. Also, when Much Music announced Adam's appearance and put out a call for an audience, they specified no one over the age of 26. If demographic doesn't matter, why put an age limit on the audience? Because what MuchMusic did was nothing specific to Adam and that is generally their rule? I am sure you did see that the place was not empty and young fans turned up for Adam? I happen to follow one of those that went on Twitter and she Stans for Katy Perry and Adam like crazy! Have you also forgotten how some Bieber, Spears and Gaga Stans posted about Adam's album on release? Contrary to what some fans are saying that it was becos Adam said something positive about Bieber, it wasn't becos of that at all. It takes you being at least a casual fan of someone to be following the person's interviews and twitter parties. Afterall Kris Allen covered some of this popular artists songs, and he got not one of their fans tweeting About it nor tweeting about his album. That also reminds me of the OneDirection Stan that tweeted about Adam's album on their web-page and had to defend his right to Stan more than one artist when the other fans picked a fight with him for posting about Adam. Anyway some fans can continue to see what they want to see, the fact remains that all evidences point to the fact that Adam has a diverse fanbase. And like Mcspenser said radio is supposed to sell an artist based on their songs to the desired demographic. AI is only a platform and Adam says this all the time also and still said it recently in Canada too and that it is a different ball game out there in the music world. |

Exactly. It's great to look at things in a glass half full way but I was certainly hoping for CHR adds!
And - I'm not a mod so I'll probably get my fingers smacked for this but can we stop with the lecturing to the older fans? When things get stressful here we seem to eat our own (to quote Adam about the LGBT community).
I'm hitting "reply" and I might be sorry.

Of course, like I said, I did expect Q and Boston. Q3, can you explain that weird ad saying that Boston and Q102 added early? Or ask your RCA friends, "WTF?!" ;D |
