Well, I guess it's my fault the new day is a "light side" only.
No clue my post was so bad.
Think I'll have to be gone for a while.
Sorry and best to all. I'd like to go on record saying that I think the dark side belongs in our discussions just as much as the light. That was the goal of Adam's new album to--to express the doubt he feels underneath. I would rather ride my highs and see only the glitter but that's not being real. I know I am out of place saying all this but it is not like me to suppress things. Sorry. ETA And I posted this before seeing the ban on the dark side on the new thread... |

RjacksPF, sorry today was your day to get the patented pushback. I think my favorite was yesterday's response to the effect that "some may indulge in angst and wank and that is OK." Wow. Thanks! ??? momtomany, you are amazing. I would love to respond to some of the things you said but it seems too late in the day and I can't face waking up to being misunderstood, so let me just say  . You are my hero! I would say, given Adam's bio change on Twitter to request NCOE, that the angst and wank has infiltrated RCA and Adam Lambert. Not unlike his post "BHIKM is dropping, Request!" You can believe that we are not the only ones seeing the numbers (or lack of) and it hasn't gone unnoticed by FOO. One thing I'm thinking is his big coup was announced last Thursday and does take some time for the public to actually go listen and buy, perhaps. And the Idol finale came into play and the winner pushing almost 300K of the coronation song. Radio? I'm prepared to consider Adam Lambert may just have to work his ass off touring as an album seller and not radio artist, which, I don't think is his real goal long term. I'd like to be wrong, but he's going to have a tough year or two ahead regardless. I disagree completely. There is no sign that anyone at RCA is angsting. It makes no sense to compare the Idol winner's coronation song to Adam's album sales. Phillip was on Idol for the whole season and is a very popular winner. The book is not written yet on Adam and radio. Two things are clear: 1. RCA's VP Marketing said they have promo planned until 2013 and multiple single a week before the album release. So they planned on a long campaign. (He also said the album would be #1.) 2. In 2009 I lived through reading "Idol experts" claiming that Adam was not going to have radio hits and couldn't sell singles like ______ AND that he could not sell albums like _____. In the end, FYE has sold almost 2 million copies, and WWFM was a top 10 hit that will be 2XP US -- getting closer everyday. It took 5 months for WWFM to peak. It was Adam's 3rd single. Most Adam fans have learned to not underestimate Adam. |

Adam would love a d*rk thread - so come embrace the realness over at the thread of the Dread Pirate Roberts! I won't be able to help much as I have rl darkness to beat back early tomorrow and a cold, so probably won't be able to contribute much but feel free to go Underneath where anyone may be Broken Open  . |
