Okay, everybody--wish me luck--I start a new job in the morning. The worst and best thing about it is the very long commute. More time for Adam music in the car!

www.cbc.ca/news/arts/story/2012/05/30/audio-adam-lambert.htmlAdam Lambert on taking control of his pop image Adam Lambert is going for the whole pop star experience, from singing and writing to creating his own concept videos. The singer who popped into the public consciousness as a contestant for American Idol is out to prove he’s not a product of a star “system.” He wants to be like the artists he admires — Madonna or Michael Jackson — a star who does it all, with a little advice from some experts. With his second album, Trespassing, Lambert said took greater control of the writing and production. The result is a more personal and emotional set of songs and an album that debuted last week at the top of the Billboard Hot 200 Chart. In an interview with Jian Ghomeshi, host of CBC’s Q cultural affairs show, Lambert talked about negotiating his fame and his ambitions as a pop star. He also talked about the responsibility he feels as an openly gay artist. “It feels like a privilege to answer questions and try to help combat ignorance and just progress things, but the hard part about it is that it can overshadow the universal appeal of music,” Lambert said.

When I clicked on this link, over on the right there was a quote from the old blues master, Buddy Guy, who'd just been interviewed by Jian Ghomeshi. Buddy Guy on life and the blues: "We do sing sad songs, because there's a sad part in your life. If you haven't hit it yet, just keep living. But there's a glory, a good time in your life. If you haven't got it yet, just keep living."Love this!!
