KI55andTELL @ki55andtell
@bleubelle31 Apart from JLS and one of Pixie Lotts songs the crowd generally stayed seated. What a lot of people dont realise is that a large
@bleubelle31 proportion of the audience were very sick children and their carers. A young girl next to us had a syringe drip attached to her
@bleubelle31 by her carer at one point. Many have life threatening illnesses and would be too weak to stand. They were let out of hospices
@bleubelle31 to attend the show. It is very sad really.

I was listening to Trespassing today -- for the 1,000th time more or less -- and I was struck by how much I love this album. I would love it even if I did not know the artist or who he is. I stopped working for a moment and just listened. "Excuse me..." While I was listening to it one of my Research Assistants came into my office -- yes I was "working" -- and she said -- "OH that's Adam Lambert, he's great." I smiled, agreed and proceeded to get back to work. We started to discuss the project she was working on. Then my RA interrupted and said the most amazing thing -- she is 21 or so -- "I hope I get to see Adam live someday. I have read that he's great live." I wondered if I should come out -- decided WTF -- "Yes, he's great." She looked at me in amazement and said -- "You've seen him?" I said yes. We chatted a bit and I told her I was going to see him when I was in London when he performed with Queen. She only vaguely knew who Queen is. Never heard of Freddy Mercury. But was amazed that I was going to see Adam. It was a bit of a reality check for me. Freddy probably died before she was born. She knew the music but it was historic to her. The punchline -- "I think my grandparents are Queen fans."It happens to me with my son and his girlfriend. I'll mention a famous artist (well...of my generation anyway lol) and I get blank looks from them...like I'm part of ancient history! : I then proceed to educate them on real singers/performers! ;D

I have to say a word in Adam's defense regarding "Are you having fun?" and "Pharrell's too cool." I know noone is really criticizing him, but there are probably only a few thousand(?) of us who have watched 150+ performances and just as many interviews over these last three years. The first few times we heard those lines they were fine. Many of the interviews he's done lately are hopefully to almost entirely new people. God, I'd hate to have to say the same thing in a different way 150 times! The game does sound like fun though... ;D

Pink sometimes curses out her band in front of people. Some talk about the music they are going to sing..and I would say almost all of the ones I've heard .. Say Are you having a good time.. standard.

He's usually so charismatic and original that when he does use a more typical/trite expression, I find myself going, "arrrrwhoooo?" with the Scooby-Doo head tilt because it just doesn't sound like, well, Adam. ETA: Personally, I'm voting for "Banshee girls and dancey boys...are you getting DOWN???"

The punchline -- "I think my grandparents are Queen fans." That's interesting. I have frequent occasion to be around a large number of college students. I don't think there's a one of them that doesn't know who Queen or Freddie Mercury are. To them, Queen is like Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Eric Clapton - giants who defined their genres and cast very long shadows indeed. A lot of them listen to this music at parties and events and think the world of these artists.

And Adam thanks the band, of course. Ladies and gentlemen, he is such a prince.
