OMG! No wonder Adam said this is just the beginning! Take a look! I have chills and my eyes are welling up. Video Promo: ADAM LAMBERT/Queen/Elton John to perform on June 30, 2012 in Kiev UkraineI don't know WTF they are saying on this video, but this looks like an INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!! I have been to Kiev twice and been to that square. My children are both adopted from the Ukraine and I speak Ukrainian. Ukraine is an impoverished country that remains under Russian surveillance, despite that it is an independent country. Ukraine provides a means for Russia to trade and export thru the Black Sea and for Russia to have access to the Mediterannean. It has the most fertile soil (loess)in the world, and was considered the breadbasket of Europe. This country has few opportunities for its youth, and there a few opportunities for entertainment. So a concert like this will be well attended. Aids is prevalent, as the youth have nothing better to do than smoke, drink and have sex. Kids like mine that were in orphanages are put out onto the street at 16 and told to go make their way. Girls are often taken into prostition rings and boys often becomes thugs and drug dealers. I consider that I saved 2 souls from a life that would be riddled with uncertainty. You bet your sweet arse that this concert will be well attended. Not much else available to do, and it will be a dream of a lifetime for Adam. The video in essence is saying there is football, they are privileged to have this free concert concert and refers to Elton as Sir Elton John and Queen. I did not hear Adam's name. But it doesn't matter, his picture is plastered all over the place. I wish I was there for this, in memory of my parents, who both came from this country and were displaced persons after the war. They saw such poverty in their visit after glastnost and perestroika. They would have loved Adam for his voice and trust me, seeing such activity in independence Square would have made their lives complete.

Grandparents are from Czechoslovakia displaced because of the "Great War", my mother orphaned in the US, I grew up and wanted to learn about the region, got a degree in Russian and I adopted a little girl from Kazakhstan (another country exploited by the Soviets for its resources). I have a deep love for the entire region. I'm so very happy to see Adam in it.

Smokeyvera Do you know what TV station is broadcasting this event in the Ukraine? I have a friend who may be able to record it. Thanks

Well, there are 200 million adults (give or take a few thousand ) in the US. That leaves 190 million who haven't bought Adele's latest CD. The madness could go on for years...decades! LOL
Thanks to my husband we have a copy of Adele's 21 -- if you remember, he bought it the week of the Trespassing release -- egad! In any case, I had an opportunity to listen to it last week. I really don't get the numbers this album has generated. The only thing I can think of is for all the listeners out there who haven't heard Bonnie Rait (sp) or Carole King, this style may be new to them. It's good but the content is redundant and, IMO, it needs to go away now. I think I have two tracks from that album - the only ones I liked and they are just in rotation on my iPod - not like trespassing which is always played all the way thru - but please - Bonnie Raitt is too cool to be compared to Adele. ;D

My daughter gave me Adele's album,I listened and was bored and a bit depressed by most of the songs.I don't get the popularity thing.. I will say I've heard a couple of her interviews and I found her to be very funny and charming. My guess would be that there are a lot of depressed people out there My wife checked the "21" album out and said "Not for me, too depressing". We live in Vancouver, we have enough rainy days to be depressed without Adele.
This is classic.

Thank you for saving two children from a very difficult future. From what I have learned, It's not easy adopting children from Russia or the Ukraine. You have a heart of gold. My Dad and his family are from Kiev , when it was still part of the Soviet Union. My grandfather was killed by the cossacks and my dad was nine years old when he came to America. It's quite a story of being an immigrant ... I have not been to Kiev ,but have been to St. Petersburg ,Russia. I think this tour with Queen and Elton John will be one of the most exciting and growth inducing trips that Adam will experience. Queen and Elton's knowledge of the music industry, their amazing talent, their total expertise& A once in a life time event.. Talk about a form of Nirvana. As Adam said It's just the beginning.. So glad Adam's fans were invited on his amazing life changing journey... Thank you SmokeyVera for sharing this background information on Kiev,It gives me a perspective of life there. We wanted to take my Dad back for a visit before he died,he still has relatives in Kiev, but he refused to go.

We live in Vancouver, we have enough rainy days to be depressed without Adele. I cannot explain the phenomenon, and I don't care. SuBo also outsold Adam last era, but that does not make her a better singer than Adam (for me, for you ;D ) Adele and SuBo couldn't be any more different. If the sales of 21 were attributed to only the depressed, their would be other albums out there selling over 20 million worldwide. There are many artists who record songs about break ups or heartbreaks who can't even sell 10K. Obviously, people in every corner of the world relate to the songs on 21 and enjoy the voice delivering the songs. I believe most things like this are just rare outliers that catch on for some reason and then word of mouth starts a snowball effect. If even half of the people who bought 21 love it and tell others they love it, you have a force that can't be stopped. That's what usually happens in situations like these. Are there going to be people who hate the album or don't buy it? Of course! There always is! The point is that there are still more buyers who love it and are spreading the word. Word of mouth is the very best advertisement for a product.

Glizzard? Not sure where that would have come from or what it has to do with Adam, but it was the only one I could think of. Perhaps it refers to the shoes he is wearing. Dunno. Now on the pride thing, I have to admit that I am clearly slow on the uptake. Did not catch that one. Embarrassed....hanging head..... No, I'm pretty sure they were looking for glamphibian -- all the answers had the "am" sound in them. I, too, did not catch the "glide" answer becoming non-family friendly. Can anyone explain or ... maybe I don't want to know?!!!

There are lots of Ukrainian fans, and I am sure they will provide vids of much of this concert. I will not be surprised that we will get a ustream of some sort as it will be televised in Ukraine and in Poland. Remember the Russian concert. Russian and ukrainian fans are just as rabid and they provided us with a lot. I'm sure we will get vids and possibly ustreams of this concert. I can't wait!!!!!
