Well you make sense..but it sure hurts I'm with you on that! I just try to focus on RCA having better things to do with the promo money at this time. I do believe the record label is working hard for Adam.

At least the Vertigo Schtick guy (I'm assuming a guy, perhaps wrongly) was honest about his homophobia. This man figuratively washes his hands of Adam and his record because of a sense of sexual guilt that he pretty much wears on his sleeve. He can't stop thinking about Adam's "practices." Whatever, dude, get therapy please. But he does like Shady and Sam Sparro though. I wonder if he knows Sam is gay too?? Instead reviewing the songs, he began his review by.. "This the album by a gay singer", so his single minded POV/brain, cannot get outside of the gay box, so he sees all the songs as a gay dude singing songs for his boyfriend. That's just plain stupid, because Trespassing, Cuckoo, Underneath are not songs about boyfriend.. ohh yeah Bruno wrote NCOE, coz he wanted to talk about his boyfriend :-/.

Intro paragraph of a review of the new movie, "Rock Of Ages". Love that Adam as now been acknowledged among the list of great rock singers, as if it is a given. "NEITHER hard work nor will power can turn Tom Cruise’s voice into the steely pipes of Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler, Dennis DeYoung, Peter Cetera or Adam Lambert—that’s simply a scientific impossibility, because an exceptional voice is a special gift more than an instrument acquired through rigorous training." entertainment.inquirer.net/45255/tom-cruise-hits-all-the-right-notesI'll dump what was on my clipboard and just say that I loved that bit too.

That can't possibly be true, can it?

We are having a bit of a conversation on the dark side that I would love to see over here...and is appropriate I think. If not delete away :-( We are stating our favourite tracks and what we would like to see. I just posted this: I just have to pop back in to say that I REALLY believe that Shady could be that breakthrough track. It is up at or near the top of almost everyone's list, regardless of the other track favourites. It is infectious to the max. Furthermore, [as was Fever], the cd version is at least as good, if not arguably better than the live version...and if you want it to hit on radio...the radio version has to be marvellous. Not just the live version. jmho If I had my say, I would SOOOOO release Shady...and have a few big performances with both Niles and Sam!!! that would be BREATHTAKING and knock everyone's socks off.... eta...and accompany the release with a video of them performing partially real and partially in cartoon and 3d'ish...no 'storyline...just performance As far as a breakthrough hit... Assuming it's a radio hit popular with teens... I live with my sister and niece who is 18. My niece was just telling me that for a birthday party in her college program, she was tasked with making the music playlist. She's as big an Adam fan as I am (she's who I took with me to GNT), so she included all of the "fast" songs on Trespassing on the playlist. She knew that some of her friends liked Adam, but she knew many of them knew WWFM only. She told me that the "fast" songs were a huge hit amongst those at the party -- whose age range was 18--25. The five most popular songs were: 1. Trespassing 2. Cuckoo 3. NCOE 4. Kickin' In 5. ShadyShe said that Trespassing was THE song of the night and the one everyone wanted to hear over and over. It was the song everyone memorized and went home and bought on iTunes, the song everyone then sang to each other, etc. The line that hooked everyone was, "I ain't got no bs in my bag." She said that it became a tag line for everyone at the party. I realize it's only an anecdotal example, but I thought it was interesting how Trespassing was THE song they all loved. ETA: I will also say that again (anecdotal example though it was), NONE of the people at the party knew Adam's cd was out, even the ones who counted themselves his fans. I think RCA needs to find a way to reach that market because it didn't seem to work for at least that particular group of fans. I asked my niece how they find out about music and she said that it's word of mouth, when something goes viral and from tv shows/commercials. Radio really wasn't a big way of finding out about new music for them. I Find this list interesting.. especially where Shady is ranked. I know there are some big lovers of Shady on this board. I certainly didn't "get it" when I first heard it. Trespassing and Kickin in were my favs. Shady was a slow grow because it is honestly, I never heard much if any type of funk growing up. It just sounded alien to me. I think thats also why I don't think this age group would, as a whole, gravitate towards this song at the onset. Now that I have gained familiarity with it, I would almost venture to say it is one of the most brilliant songs on the album. Without this song, I don't think the album would be as strong as it is.
