Lights - is that the Ellie Goulding song you're speaking of? I remember that song from back in the Fall of 2011 - I saw Ellie open for Katy Perry in November. That song, Lights, was getting minimal radio play before I saw it live, and then it disappeared for a while, but now I'm hearing it all over radio again.
I was wondering how that happens - there have been a few other songs I've noticed since following Adam that either disappear and come back or have a long, slow climb. A couple examples are the LaRoux song Bulletproof and Gavin Degraw Not Over You.
I guess it's money behind them that makes them keep trucking or come back out of hiding then? Makes as much sense as any other explanation.
But I wonder how does a new song from a brand new artist (say The Wanted, Fun, or One Direction) go flying up the charts so fast when the song may not be all that special? Is that also a matter of money? Hmmmm wish I knew all the secrets of radio............

Intro paragraph of a review of the new movie, "Rock Of Ages". Love that Adam as now been acknowledged among the list of great rock singers, as if it is a given. "NEITHER hard work nor will power can turn Tom Cruise’s voice into the steely pipes of Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler, Dennis DeYoung, Peter Cetera or Adam Lambert—that’s simply a scientific impossibility, because an exceptional voice is a special gift more than an instrument acquired through rigorous training." entertainment.inquirer.net/45255/tom-cruise-hits-all-the-right-notes I saw Cruise on The Tonight Show the other night and he said that when they tested him to see if he could sing, they found he could hit four octaves. That can't possibly be true, can it?Could be. Hard to know what they're counting as four octaves though, like if it's actual singing or what. I can sing almost four octaves but at the top I start sounding like one of those 80s hair metal banshees :(

Re: Tom Cruise singing 4 octaves to quote 'adam: "...but how did it sound?" I'm calling BS on this one. I think Tom is blowing smoke up someone's butt. Or someone was blowing smoke up his. Unless he is singing live... Autotune Baby!

I applauded him for actually sing in the movie instead of using someone else's vocal.. LOL

Local Glamberts, your prayers are answered: Adam Lambert is coming to Winstar World Resort in Julypopcultureblog.dallasnews.com/2012/06/local-glamberts-your-prayers-are-answered-adam-lambert-is-coming-to-winstar-world-resort-in-july.html/Woo-hoooooo! Glamberts of D-FW, rejoice: Pop star Adam Lambert will return to the general area with a concert at 9 p.m. July 27 at Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla., just across the Red River and a little over an hour’s drive from downtown Dallas. Tickets, priced at $29.50-$57.50, went on sale today through Ticketmaster. Lambert, who was runner-up (he was ROBBED, I tell you, robbed!) to Kris Allen in the eighth season of American Idol, is touring in support of his fabulous new dance-pop album, Trespassing. See you there at Winstar — and don’t forget your MAC Smolder eyeliner (Adam’s preferred brand).

I hope everyone has made their daily radio requests. Just a thought -- I think we may all be wanting way too much for Adam for this moment in time. And, it seems, because NCOE didn't blow up like a One Direction or Bieber song that some are giving up hope. Come on, guys. Adam isn't gonna blow up like them. But, he is having a very substantial career. I'm sure he is more then paying his bills. And, for now, the concentration is focused in the UK cuz he's there and getting ready for the Queen gigs. Do we really want to see a boat load of tweens screaming for Adam? I don't. And, that is the age group that the radio folks are targeting. One day they'll get smart and realize that the parents of these kids want something to listen to also. For now, I'm gonna request, buy cd's, try to make a couple of his concerts, and wait patiently for the rest of the world to catch up. ^^^This. At the Albert Hall the audience was nearly all screaming tweens who really made too much noise to hear that the people they were screaming about, couldn't sing. They didn't know quite what to make of Adam; he is, after all, a grown-up . They didn't however, chat during his performance like they did for Leona Lewis. Anyway, their parents googled Adam, asked about him and were greatly impressed. I've always wanted to see Adam in the charts because HE wants it. Perhaps, like the explosion of glitter on Glamnation that had been repressed for too long, once it's done (and I pray it happens soon) he'll get bored and move on. I want to see ALL ages screaming for Adam. And praying that he will get bored soon and move on? Move on to what, exactly - cruise ship singing again? Is he really working his cute little buns off because he is bored with his career and doesn't care about the charts? I don't get what you are saying. ???
