On first listen, By the rules didn't do a lot for me. But.... this song has become one of my jams. It is so sensuous. I can't stop playing it... it is penetrating right into my soul... almost painful...

There was a (very!) short mention of Adam in the VIP news of a German TV news mag last Thursday! ;D They spoke about the Billboard "sexiest man" voting and said, that he won the poll but that he is not so well known here in Germany while they were showing a very short snippet of the NCOE video (but without the sound! )! You can watch the news mag for free for seven days on their internet site but probably you can only watch it in Germany!?! ??? Anyway, here is the link, they mention Adam at about 25:30 (for five seconds, haha!)! rtl-now.rtl.de/punkt-12/punkt-12-das-rtl-mittagsjournal.php?container_id=89376&player=1&season=0Thanks Betty, it actually plays here in the US. I guess the restrictions seem to be just one-sided. Sorry You have to endure the 2-3 commercials, but once the actual show starts you can slide the counter over to 25:00 and catch the end of the Steffi Graf interview and then listen to it. They talk about Britney and her win first and then mention that Bill Kaulitz made it too (spot 5, if I recall right). Then they briefly say that the winner is somebody who in Germany is relatively unknown and they show a few seconds of the NCOE video, but no music and no qualifier about Adam, just that he is unknown. There is no gay talk, nothing and the picture from NCOE looks as stunning as can be. So at least it got his name onto an journal on RTL TV and if people hear and see more of him over the summer via the UK, perhaps some will stick. In general, Sony Germany has certainly dialed back their rollout promotion for this album compared to FYE and did very little to promote the singles to radio as far as I can tell. So, I am not sure really what is going on there, because Germany was such a beacon of light during FYE phase and I have no idea why that did not continue. Adam went gold with WWFM in Germany and album was up to # 16, so not bad for a new artist at all. It really is a mystery to me. There is no question in my mind that our little BB voting for fun turned out to have a huge return on the invested time we put into this. It's quite amazing actually.

Betty, this is an issue over German royalties. No way around it until there is an agreement between the GEMA and YouTube. A German court has ruled that online video platform YouTube must install filters to prevent users from uploading some music videos whose rights are held by a music-royalties collecting body.
German news agency dapd reported that the Hamburg state court on Friday mostly sided with Germany's GEMA, which represents about 60,000 German writers and musicians.
GEMA took Google Inc.'s YouTube unit to court over 12 temporarily uploaded music videos for which no royalties were paid.www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/20/youtube-germany-copyright_n_1440767.html

Just crawling out of the rabbit hole and want to thank Tinafea for the monthly news summaries. I don't go there often because I read just about every word every day, but tonight I wanted to find a few things to send to a "new prospect" and it was so easy to find it all there. Then, of course, I stayed a little longer and looked at things I wasn't really looking for...
I'm finding it really hard to decide what to send - there is so much I need to share... ;D ;D

May i ask a question which has been in my mind for a while? Can anyone fill me in how WWFM became a hit? How long did it take? Did it struggle for radio play as well? Cause when I first heard Adam, WWFM had been a hit already. I missed all the moments prior. Basically I just want to know if NCOE is going the similar path as WWFM and it would become a hit sooner or later. I hope I made myself clear enough... Thank you in advance

I expect Olly Murs will be getting buildup in US. He is mentioned in the new Entertainment Weekly as alternative to Bruno Mars.
What upsets me is that Mr. Murs is a UK X-Factor alum. Apparently in the UK "talent show" alums do not have a problem getting radio play and so no problem selling downloads and albums. That's fine. But then they import them to the US where our own "talent show" alums are not cool enough to get airplay.
Of course, the UK is resistant to the US alums while the US can't get enough of those from the UK.
