Folks, can someone explain to me why Adam being out of the country now matters... What could he be doing in the US that he has not done already? He's visited a million radio stations, he participated in several radio concerts, he opened at #1...
IMO - he is cracking a very important market now, instead of banging his ahead against the US radio wall...It seems to be going well there...Queenbert can only help in EU and especially in UK. Nothing wrong with going Gaga way...

Nothing wrong with going Gaga way... I would like to know this also. In addition to those radio shows you mention, he was already on Idol, the TV show that had the largest audience (which didn't bump up sales that much), GMA, Kimmel, Chelsea, and some of those entertainment evening shows. He was also on NPR. I think it was good that he was in Canada because he got the #1 album there too. I don't quite understand how radio works in the UK, but just having that one station support him and get him 423 spins is pretty amazing to me. I guess we will not know the effect until the song and album are released there. The Rays of Sunshine gave him some exposure. I also think the Graham Norton appearance will be important. Didn't he get sales bump when he did that a capella on the Jonathan Ross show?

This single was supposed to be "promoting" the album right now, and it's not. The UK/Queen plan is a very good one, IMO. What's going to happen with this single is anyone's guess. Q3, I have to disagree that it is very early in this song's life. If we were seeing good updates and good adds, I'd agree, but right now I don't see much that makes me hopeful. I hope I am wrong about this song and I will continue to request and post my reminders, but it is moving slower than BTIKM and I don't think that's a good thing. The radio visits and spring shows could have been payback for the BTIKM adds. As a matter of fact, I am guessing they probably were.

On a positive note, I was just checking playlists and NCOE has moved from #44 to #37 on Q102's playlist!

Many of the stations he visited for that month long tour never added either song. Radio concerts yes, but there weren't that many of those. I agree Adam couldn't do much if he were here. What's he going to do, visit all the stations again that haven't played him at all the past 6 months? Many shows are on hiatus during the summer. The only ones that could help him might be Leno or Letterman. The View will be going on hiatus in August for a month. Ellen won't be back till September. The only other thing coming up are the BET Awards and I don't think Adam fits their demographic.

Most are artists who have had recent hits on Top 40 radio. Eight of the artists in this top 20 are newcomers or are not considered to be regulars on the Top 20. One of the eight is listed twice, so nine of the top 20 spots are occupied with artists who haven't monopolized the top of the CHR charts in the past. CHR radio has really changed since even six months ago. That is causing a change in HAC. NCOE would have had a better chance last summer or last fall. I'm not sure which song off of TSP would work on CHR at the current time. Possibly a radio edit of one of the dance songs that includes a collab from some female artist like Kesha, Katy Perry or Jessie J???

Folks, can someone explain to me why Adam being out of the country now matters... What could he be doing in the US that he has not done already? He's visited a million radio stations, he participated in several radio concerts, he opened at #1... More radio promo and more radio shows. It never ends for artists who aren't established. Adam basically pushed BTIKM to the top 20 on the format it was suited for. He was going to have to do the same thing for NCOE at Pop stations. He's not here to do that now, so the song has stalled. It wouldn't be a problem if Adam was going to be doing international promo for a couple of weeks. Instead, he is out of the country for a couple of months. It is what it is now, but it's going to hurt things in the US. Many of the stations he visited for that month long tour never added either song. Most of the HAC stations did. Since BTIKM was a song targeted to HAC, the radio tour was a success. Yes!! Adam wouldn't have to revisit any station, there are around 250 monitored CHR and HAC stations, so there are probably a couple of hundred left to visit.

Japan Oricon Chart update: (reminder---physical album sales ONLY)
(TSP sold 2199 copies last week, Norah Jones sold 2311 just one position above Adam.)
And...Usher sold 6727 copies and debuted at #15.
Also, on the non-Japanese chart, TSP sits at #9 while Usher takes #1.
ETA: Japan Billboard updates tomorrow.

On a positive note, I was just checking playlists and NCOE has moved from #44 to #37 on Q102's playlist! Boy, we sure do need a positive note. Thanks for that. I spend two hours on the phone last night and the whole time I was voting on Q102. I think Q3 is right. Those of us who don't have local stations that added should vote like demons on Q102.
