I innterpret the last sentence as meaning radio discussion belongs in the radio thread. Why post something about the Dark thread here then? :-/ Apparently there was a lot of radio discussion on the Dark Thread. At least some of the radio discussion is appropriate here.

Through 9 weeks of HAC adds (4/23/12 - 6/18/12), NCOE has a total of 29 adds (just one in each of the past two weeks). BTIKM had 38 HAC adds through 9 weeks (1/2/12 - 2/27/12), with 8 adds in the 9th week including KBIG (LA) and WRQX (DC). Hoping for better news from the Top 40 adds tomorrow. Zero adds so far with 54 of 155 reporting. To compare in another way, NCOE currently stands at #36 on HAC with 417 spins. At the equivalent point in the cycle for BTIKM (2/27/12), it was #28 with 657 spins on HAC. For Top 40, the closest equivalent data I have for BTIKM is from 2/24/12, when it was #59 with 272 spins. It seems likely that NCOE is doing slightly better than that at this point. One big difference is that NCOE never had an HAC add date, BTIKM did. I think RCA wants to see if they can get Adam out of the "Adult Pop Music Ghetto". NCOE -- only promoted to Top 40. NCOE Music Video -- pushed to MTV not VH1. I am not sure that this is a sensible strategy but I am convinced they can push it up the HAC chart when they want to.

I know I am new here, I really shouldn't voice an opinion, but the numbers thread seems like the place to discuss all aspects of radio and sales. Maybe I am being influenced by MJs, but her numbers thread where the discussions are often very open about all aspects of radio and sales is usually the most interesting thread and often the biggest. It is annoying to have to decide what thread to post in and jump from thread to thread. I personally think that a lot of the angst from the dark side belongs here too. I mean it is numbers both sales and radio that is causing our angst.

Explanations and clarifications from our resident experts always helps too. Explanations and theories can be shared here objectively without all that "the sky is falling" drama. I say leave that to the dark thread. Wouldn't want to see this numbers thread to become like that.

Seems like they are trying to make a complete 180 and having difficulty now.

Hopefully NCOE will see more success on Top 40 than BTIKM did. Looking at adds relative to impact date (I believe that the CHR impact date for BTIKM was January 31?). BTIKM had 4 pre-impact adds, 7 impact date adds, and 8 adds in the first two weeks after impact date (6-2). BTIKM had zero adds in the third week after impact date. The song went on to pick up 7 more adds in weeks 4-6 after impact date, and that was it on Top 40. NCOE had 3 pre-impact adds, 7 impact date adds, and 8 adds in the first two weeks after impact date (5-3). NCOE has zero adds so far (with 1/3 of the panel reporting) in the third week after impact date.

This is sort of OT but not really, if Usher gets the #1 spot this week (and I'm sure he will) that will mean that RCA has had the last 4 #1 debuts! Carrie Adam Mayer Usher

Sorry, but complaining about no Top 40 adds this week when the Top 40 adds are tomorrow is a little strange to me. ???

Sorry, but complaining about no Top 40 adds this week when the Top 40 adds are tomorrow is a little strange to me. ??? Please point out where I complained. I was stating the fact that with 54 of 155 monitored Top 40 stations reporting for this week, there are zero adds for NCOE.
