I think at this point maybe NCOE will need to crack top 40 before we see much more in terms of adds. Numbers people, is this possible with the current amount of adds if spins increase?

Q3, Thanks for the station info. I put in a request at KLLY. Nice to feel like I am maybe helping.

I think at this point maybe NCOE will need to crack top 40 before we see much more in terms of adds. Numbers people, is this possible with the current amount of adds if spins increase? If you mean get on the Top 40 CHR chart, I'd say yes, definitely. There are plenty of stations spinning at a low volume, a few extra spins from several of them could make a difference. If you mean get into the above 40 position on the Top 40 CHR chart, that depends on getting on it first, and how things go from there ;D. ETA: one thing that occurs to me about requests. We know fans were requesting heavily during the WWFM/IIHY era. We know based on first week album sales that the US fanbase including casual fans is naturally smaller now than it was right after idol. So it follows that local radio stations are probably not getting the same volume of distinct individual requests that they were during era I. So, to me that means if you can find time to add to this volume steadily and regularly and encourage and help others too, that's all for the good. I wouldn't assume that base is covered by others.

The truth is that we have enough stations on our list now if they would only play Adam... Just think if he was straight and from the south.. This man would be at the top of the charts all the time. That would be describing the WGWG winners from AI who have been trying to get on the CHR charts and they aren't doing any better! Most of them have lost or are going to lose their contracts! In the real world, what does it matter where an artist comes from? I have no idea what section of the US people like Levine, Bruno, Katy Perry, Usher, Rihanna, Bieber, etc. came from. That's only important in the Idol bubble. Straight? Adam was gay when WWFM and IIHY made it to the top 20 on CHR. If it didn't matter then, it doesn't matter now!

Not gonna lie, I am sad about today's adds. :( I'm really depressed and need another drink. Even Phillip Phillips and Stefano got adds on CHR. It feels like the only hope is for the song to take off in the UK. It's up to 423 spins but since the song is not on sale there yet I don't know how the UK audience is responding to it.

Not gonna lie, I am sad about today's adds. :( Me too! :( Adam being away from the US, until the end of July, isn't going to make things easier. Unfortunately, it's going to be an 'out of sight, out of mind' situation for radio stations.

A non monitored station still gets music out there if they play it, so it is better than nothing I guess.

Unfortunately, it's going to be an 'out of sight, out of mind' situation for radio stations. So can things change for the better when he returns? I know there must be some RCA strategy involved but I am not understanding it at this moment. I am pleased with the UK promo, but nothing happening here right now. Resident experts - whataya think?

HOpe we can agree to disagree, which seems to happen pretty often LOL We can, but as long as the "gay excuse" gets posted, the question of why WWFM and IIHY did well on Pop radio will remain. IMO, it's an easy, go to excuse that ignores some of the more logical reasons why Adam's singles aren't working such as timing, bias against Idols, and the changing climate of Pop radio over the last year. Then there is the new excuse of "coming from the south". Where are the facts to back up a regional bias? Where did that come from?
