juniemoon, that was brilliant. At first I thought I would just listen to a little bit but the time passed quickly and I was engrossed. The desire to connect with others must be so deeply ingrained in our psyches that nothing can stop it. A beautiful story.
Sorry about your bad day. There might be something in your mailbox that would make it better. ;D

I keep running across quotes that remind me of Adam. These wise words were from, of all places, Carl Richards' personal finance blog in the NYT:
There’s an old saying that you should take a look at your checkbook and your calendar to see what you really value as opposed to what you say you value, because the calendar and the checkbook never lie…
…It may help to think of life in units — units of time, units of energy and so on. Each day, you take some of your units and exchange them for units of money. You then take those units of money and spend them on something. But every time you exchange a unit, there’s a tradeoff, and we often fail to look past the immediate return to the potential long-term consequences.
But the point remains that when it comes to our human capital, we’re not very good at judging the value of the tradeoff or even considering it in the first place.
Last week, on Harvard Business Review’s Web site, Umair Haque pointed out that “The ‘best’ investment you can make isn’t gold. It’s the people you love, the dreams you have, and living a life that matters."
What do you think? Are you happy with how you invest your own time, energy, and money? I think I could do a lot better on all three.
Perhaps we can look at Adam's calendar and see what he values ... what he is investing in, what his dreams are. And if we don't like it ... maybe we need to look at our own calendars instead of criticizing Adam's?

Here is a very interesting interview with an intentionally provocative title: Failure Doesn't Suck Part 1: www.fastcompany.com/magazine/115/open_next-design.htmlPart 2: www.fastcompany.com/articles/2007/04/next-design-extra.html(don't worry, they're both short) The title turns out to relate to the creativity of the inventor interviewed here, who turns out to have invented the world's best-selling vacuum after 15 years and over 5000 tries. He has many insights into the creative process -- and the anger, optimism, and mistakes involved. I would love to know what others thought in relation to Adam. Excerpt: A lot of people give up when the world seems to be against them, but that’s the point when you should push a little harder. I use the analogy of running a race. It seems as though you can’t carry on, but if you just get through the pain barrier, you’ll see the end and be okay.

Evening fellow travellers! Such interesting contemplations on this thread! I'm away from home at present on Bhutan, so wont stay long on this computer but wanted to share this pic with you - from Bhutan - because it goes with the beauty in this place. This country is a country of dragons and magic! Adam is certainly wolf, and tiger and he is very much dragon - spendiferous and fluid!

I am reading the best book by Jodi Picoult called Lone Wolf. I haven't gotten to the end yet, but I have the feeling I am going to cry. I didn't know where to go to recommend it to you gals so I came here. It is a beauty.

I'm away from home at present on Bhutan, so wont stay long on this computer but wanted to share this pic with you - from Bhutan - because it goes with the beauty in this place. This country is a country of dragons and magic! Ooh, I love Bhutan! I hope one day Adam has enough time to go - it is magical. He would love it! I'm very tired but I have to say watching Adam on that youngling show really brightened me up - I hadn't realized how much I wanted to see him with a young crowd. The energy is so different and amazing. So the U.K. hmm? Well, I have been wanting to move into Adele's house - it's not like she doesn't have space. But I've been wondering how to get Adam and Anderson Cooper to come along - now I think I'm half way there! Along w/partners of course. (At dinner, I think I can chat w/Adele's boyfriend and certainly Anderson. While Sauli and Anderson's partner and Adele will get along famously I believe. Then Adam and Adele will sing after dinner - I imagine Anderson can play the piano, he can do most things.) What? You're thinking I've given this too much thought? ??? My move out is mostly over. ...And there's a new Aaron Sorkin drama, twitter actually has some very funny lines today, I'm going to Iceland, and I am hopeful Adam is gathering powerful allies as he makes his way towards Mordor (to toss U.S. radio in I hope - Carly Rae Jepsen is so very precioussss). 8-) (I really want to add a small moon party pic but no go on hotel 'net. But party!)

Just wanted to jump in quickly before all the excitement of the Kiev show today.
I too enjoyed watching Adam at the "youngling show". Friday Download. He was fully engaged with these kids both in playing that "musical chairs" thing (which I couldn't quite understand what was going on) and in giving them a joyous performance of NCOE with riffs and hand-clapping. No patronizing or condescending, but just fully in the moment with these kids. When I see things like this with Adam, my admiration and love for him just increases.
Now on to Kiev!
