We had a discussion of personality types here about a year ago? Who remembers? It was based on several famous studies, and there was a test you could take online to determine what category you fit in. I may be able to find the info................ I remember that--I think it was the Myers Briggs.

I will try to be coherent later - have been caught in undertoad of RL last week or more but finally had to hop on to say you guys are killing me here in the best possible way :D . My fingers are achy wanting to reply to so much and I'm afraid I'll miss somebody -- but Lynne's amazing Shakespeare program had me stunned and thinking we should make her the new education tsar... and MWP's quoting beautiful stuff and writing beautiful stuff and Alison is doing wonderful and evil things (I wake up unable to sleep and I stare at those sleeping puppies on the live puppie cam - I blame you!). I kept clicking on the Bowie link and couldn't get it to play until I was doing some dull work much later that night on my computer when out of nowhere I was suddenly serenaded with Sufragette City and my gray brain came to life pondering Bowie's magnificence. Mahalia gave me 'sudden sinus condition' (comes with sniffles) with her very moving story and Junie's making me think and consider... and everyone bringing the art and thoughtfulness. I'm going to add a zen meditation tree house to the garden where I'll go to look at all these lovely posts again and turn them over and over in my hands as I get a little bit more from them each time. I think you may all be exceeding acceptable limits of fabulosity... And -as always- love to all our quiet sea sisters

Did someone say Bowie? :D One of my favourite songs EVER! Excellent choice - beautiful! This isn't my fav song (though I like it very much) but I have a huge soft spot for this performance - a glimpse between personaes of the time that also shows Bowie's sly but also rather sweet humor and his musicianship - both of which I think a lot of people overlook. BBC 1972 - Oh You Pretty Things

bringing this over from the daily news, it is already in the Finn papers, US press has not picked it up yet. It goes well with Adam's tweet: Cabo was great! Nicely toasted. Not withstanding the insuing debate that has already started over there about his hair, I love the way Adam and Sauli look so happy and so in sync with one another. Hope he is well rested and raring to go. The Japanese will go bonkers on his hair, if he keeps it this way. For the record, I am on team #AdamcandowhateverthefuckhewantsandIwillloveit Thanks for entertaining us, Adam!

Mahailia, what a beautiful story. A few years ago, we had a speaker at a teacher workshop day who asked us to think back about our most memorable and impactful things from our own days as students. What type of memories were they? Chemistry tables? Math formulas? Historical dates? Pretty much, these were not what came to mind for most of us. It was experiences (such as Lynne's Shakespeare productions) or a relationship with a teacher or how we were made to feel about something or ourselves (Mahailia's story). Lynne, I'm so glad to hear you will have classroom iPads. We've had laptops for each middle student most of the 11 years I've been teaching. So I've had quite a bit of experience using them in the classroom. As a music teacher, I use a lot of YouTube videos. The performing arts were never intended to be just heard/read and not seen. So viewing performances is very important for me. You might find plays (at least scenes) to watch. Also, I've spent some major time in the last couple days checking out www.edmodo.com/ This has been recommended by fellow teachers. It is apparently designed to feel similar to FaceBook (I don't know because I don't do FB), therefore providing a familiar interface for all. You can have online discussions with a class (which draws the quiet ones in) , and provide students with assignments, quizzes, and even grades. There are YT tutorials created by users. I ended up just reading the online help. I'm most interested in the feature that allows me to attach files for use by students. Then they can upload files for me as part of completing assignments. I'm going to give Edmodo at try this fall.

Adam changed his hair. I'm sure I'll love the results. Otherwise, someone please wake me when it's over. Artist: carrieola

I heard the news today, oh boy I really like that Adam still does these things - no test marketing or vetting by PR image people - he just goes for it. So, Possible Themes: Suicide Blonde, Blonde Ambition (But M would accuse of him being 'reductive' and no one wants that ), Blonde on Blonde (...maybe not) Possible Covers? I'm nominating 'White Wedding' - great song. And Adam would like that gauzy fabric Billy Idol is wearing over his head n the (rather bad) vid. (I don't ~think Adam's hair is short on top so hopefully we'll avoid stupid 'American Idol Goes Billy Idol' headers.) Jared Leto - another dark haired beauty who likes to change it up - had some good (and less good but there were mohawks involved) blond moments. I'm excited and looking forward to the first informal outing to (of course) Whole Foods - they need fresh kale now - and even more the first 'formal' appearance. It's another shiny day in Adam World! I think I'll actually get out of bed.

Blonde Adam! I just love his free spirit and his chutzpah. Dealing with some RL issues at home right now, but on opening these pictures of him and Sauli at the airport, I just had to chuckle and smile and feel better about things. Funny how Adam can do that to you. And Adam and Sauli look so happy - I truly wish the best for both of them.

It was a sad day - not my sadness to bear really though my daydreams of running away to run a carousel are looking better all the time - anyway I went looking for something reassuring but I couldn't find anything that seemed right in my folders until I tripped over the old classic of early Adam fandom.
He may have been just a newbie compared to now and the sound is certainly imperfect but I think there's something undeniably moving and comforting about it.
