ITA, tinafea!!! I'm not the least bit worried. He IS so multidimensional and I think he really has his eyes on establishing himself as an artist and songwriter who isn't just all flash and fun, but really has something powerful to say. He is so savvy and he knows to be critically acclaimed and accepted into the "elite" artist community, he has to produce powerful work. And I also don't worry one iota that he won't be able to work whatever he comes up with into a dazzling, fun, breathtaking stage show. I mean look how much he modified FYE for GNT? He kept the camp; he kept the depth; he kept the message. He can do the same for his next stage show, I have no doubt. He's rather creative that way. ETA: WTF, I am having major code-copy fail today. >:( I never said I was one bit worried about Adam 2. I'm not. His instincts are incredible and his knowledge about current musicl trends is fantastic. I am just trying to figure out what songs ( not performances) he thinks are campy. I don't think anyone said you did. Tinafea just said she hadn't worried at all and I agreed. As to what songs are considered campy, that's up to each individual's interpretation. I think, in general Music Again, FYE, SFW and Strut even Fever could be considered on the campy side for their lyrics, bounce (extreme register shifts in the case of some) and playfulness. Maybe Adam perceives them very differently than the way we do. There's really no way to know how he visualizes them or how he defines camp.

I think when Adam came off AI he wanted, in part, to demonstrate he wasn't solely the AI "angel that swept us off our feet" - he couldn't completely reveal his sexy outrageous side on AI lest televisions be tossed out of windows (or TV execs flip out). So, in part, I saw FYE as a more complete picture of Adam as an artist and person - as much as that's possible with many songs written by others. But I do think he chose and interpreted those songs SO well, SO beautifully, and I liked the way when he spoke about the album, he'd talk about what HE'D added and how HE related to the lyrics. All the songs spoke to me about Adam - I think he absolutely poured himself into every one.
With this next album, he can get EVEN closer to and then deliver what he's thinking about/feeling personally and musically. That is really exciting to me - REALLY exciting. And he's in a different place, with a year and half's worth of incredible life-changing experiences, personally and musically, to draw from.
And a happy side-effect of the fact that he is so INTO making his life a work in progess is that attempts to fence him in, peg him, or label him this or that are always being exposed as reductive. Yeah, he was very versatile and loveable on AI (and he still is), and he was very sexy and assertive and campy on FYE (and he still is), and he is going to be deeper and introspective and maybe darker on album 2 (and, obviously, he's always had those sides to him, too - and now he's exploring that more and is gonna share some of that - wow!).
I can hardly wait - can you tell?

One thing about Adam, he doesn't go backwards. Following the one-step back AMAs. he went forward six steps the next day. The puppetmaster and all the angels have kissed our boy over and over (that's what those freckles are--kisses from the angels). Adam never does the same thing. I am so excited for the next album. I know he will beat the whole industry up with his sparkle. Life is so much fun with Adam in it. I am so glad he came along for this elite group of Adam-lovers that follow him. He is like the Pied Piper. We are all going to end up in heaven. See if I am not absolutely correct on this psychic premonition for his next album. Yes! I love your excitement - and all these beautiful metaphors!

One of the Radio outlets that tweeted about being excited to play the Aftermath remix, 2 weeks ago, was Saturday Night On-line. Should we be requesting it tonight? I sent an e-mail and asked them if they could play it, if they have it.
