mirages and midwifespal, You're both welcome! I'm happy that 2 people who never saw that MA performance got a chance to watch.  I'm also happy that this discussion came up because it jogged my memory and gave me the opportunity to watch it again!

very SuperCool! (did not look like that out my window!)  ****SIGH**** Thank you for sharing that. I LOVE D.C. those monuments just get to me. It's just now getting dark here, but it's cloudy. :( I did a front- and backyard-search, but didn't see any glimmer of a SuperMoon. We will not get to see this in So CA. We missed the lunar eclipse because of clouds that night too! :( |

I guess today was the day to go to Target? Took my son there this morning to get him new shoes for his trip to Greece (Yes, I am still insanely jealous of my 11yo)
After the shoe shopping, I let him browse around the video games while I went and checked out the music section :D
There were 3 copies of FYE in the "Rock Music" section, and 1 in the alphabetical section. They are finally out of FakeOne - that has been there every other time (or some other fan hid them!) I did not see the DVD anywhere (I'll get mine from Amazon on Tuesday). I didn't even think to look for other idols - I really don't pay any attention to them....

This is very loosely related to a video that mariep posted earlier this evening. She posted a video of Adam playing with a towel during a performance of Music Again. I agree, he can be playful with a towel, I don't know what makes something campy. But I'll take her word on this being an example of camp. The towel play made me think of a performance during the AI8 tour (Oakland), during Adam and Allison's performance of "Slow Ride" , Adam used a towel to dry the stage. This image has always stuck with me as an example of who I think he is as a person. Attentive, protective and focused. More than that, I think it is a hoot to see him drying the stage while performing in front of thousands, working it into the act and not missing one note. Perfection!! Hmm. I'm not on board with equating gay and campy. To me, less campy doesn't mean less gay - it just means less campy. Same with theatrical. Because not every gay performer is campy, not every campy performer is gay. To me, it just doesn't make sense when gay is used to mean anything other than sexually attracted to the same sex. Everything else (campiness, theatricality) is like make-up or costumes - anyone can wear it, try it, play with it, put it on, take it off, etc. etc.
If Adam chooses to sing something brutally heartfelt and utterly un-campy about love, he's not any less gay.
