Today my DH and I went to hear "The Gay Men's Chorus of Asheville",I really wondered why they used gay as part of their name,maybe it was a pride thing. They were wonderful singers by the way ,but I couldn't understand why they labeled themselves.Im so looking for the day when people are just people and just equal in every way. When all the talk about Adam being the first gay singer to be on a major label is something of the past.It will just be ,astounding artist becomes part of the RCA team.Sooner than later please universe.. As Gaga would say "Are you listening!!!!!!!" LOL, this totally reminds me of the episode of Will & Grace where Matt Damon guest stars; he's a straight dude trying out for the Gay Men's Chorus (Will: I've always wondered, is the Gay Men's Chorus any gayer than the straight men's chorus?). Anyway, Matt has to pretend to be gay in order to get in and his main competition is Jack, who discovers he's straight. So Jack employs Grace to "in him." It's hilarious. Dang, can't find the actual clip; but here's one from the episode: BTW, I also LOLed at one of the references about Rufus Wainwright (IIRC) that he was nominated for a Gay AMA. What??? Seriously, world??

I always see Adam as a little puppy. A bambi deer is nice, but I still like a snuggly puppy. Wish I had a picture of a puppy snuggling. Anybody have one?

My neighbor and her sister were born in the 40's, so Gaye didn't get the school razzing. Then she married young and, of course, no one knew her maiden name, unless she told them. This is way OT so I apologize in advance but this discussion made me want to share unnecessary but funny info. My parents were friends with a man named Gaylon Bars. (Or Barz...not sure of the spelling but the pronunciation is bars.) And yes, people used to shorten his nickname to Gay. As he grew older and gay bars became more known in the public sphere, he got into the habit of always using his full name but some elite friends still use the nickname. It cracked me up as a child. The name Gay Bars is too freaking funny. No one would believe it now. Not long ago, I read an article that quoted a urologist, NO LIE, the guy's name was Dr. Anthony Dick.

On Z-100 out of NY they were talking about a dr the other day - Dr. Harry Balls.

Just watched Adam's "One" performance and I enjoy that so much more now than I did originally. I'm (still) just so blown away by his poise after the performance though. He NEVER points to the number or does the hand signs about his voting number. He remains completely still, with his hands at his sides (NOT always easy to do in a stage appearance situation) and just beams, sincerely. No mugging, pointing or exaggeration.
{WARNING, Q3: Denim shirt ahead}
I really don't think there is any worry whatsoever about Adam's "organic" being a guitar-strumming, be-plaided crooner. Because, bottom line, that is NOT organic for Adam. He has had 20189208 manifestations that we've seen so far. Not ONE of them has been that, so I think it's far more likely that he'll launch himself into space before we ever see WGWG from him.

MomtomanyThank you for letting us know that your granddaughter is home. Penelope sure sounds like a fighter and modern medicine is so much better for preemies. Another story, my mother was born 2 months premature at home in 1930 rural Virginia. My grandmother kept her in a box next to the open oven door. She, obviously, survived. When Mom told the story, she always added that if she had been born in a hospital, the routine was to add a silver solution to the eyes of preemies and she would have been blinded. I don't know whether that's true and I always think, "I should call Mom and ask if I've got the story straight." She's been gone for a couple of years, now, and I miss her.

Too bad the tweet on Adam perusing aluminum foil at Waldmans was a joke. I was having fun tryng to imagine what he was going to cook or whether he was just trying to decide which foil makes the best tin hat.

Read through the thread before commenting because... well it's always best to see what everyone has said before you jump in with both feet.
1) Glad Sauli will be in LA for his birthday. That's nice that they will have been together for both their birthdays this year. I'm happy to see that they seem really committed to making the distance a non-issue. I hope this is the real deal for Adam and that it turns into a lifetime love for him and Sauli because from what Adam has said, LOVE, TRUE LOVE, is the one dream he's been chasing that always seems to just be out of reach and everyone deserves that dream to come true.
2) Adam sightings at various places are always fun because the reactions are always genuine surprise at how nice he is in real life. I think most people have the preconceived notion that all celebrities are kind of dicks and Adam proves that notion wrong every time.
3) The discussion about the next album is interesting but damn it's going to get exhausting over the next 5-6 months I'd imagine LOL. When Adam says the next album will be more organic and real to me that means less production.
FYE was way overproduced and a lot of what makes Adam so special was lost IMO. Adam is one of the only male singers in pop that can ACTUALLY sing and sing beautifully. His voice got lost in some of the silliness of the songs on FYE. They were enjoyable don't get me wrong but Adam, IMO, wants to be taken seriously as an artist and songs like For Your Entertainment and Strut aren't going to cut it.
He needs songs that touch the core of people's emotions, like WWFM did. When he sings from that vulnerable place people look past the make up, the leather and all the other superficial stuff and see HIM. The man who loves just like they do and the man who hurts just like they do and they connect with him.
Now, I don't think Adam will ever give up his edge. That's ingrained into him as not only an artist but a man. He will always be left of center and that's what will keep him just a step above everyone else. It's one thing when Bruno Mars, Rob Thomas or even John Mayer sings from a vulnerable place because you expect it...they come across as the agnsty sensitive type (yes even douche mayer)....when someone like Adam taps into that place it's more haunting and raw because he's so fabulous and then you hear the hurt and you realize that he's just a man who wants to love and be loved and that's power stuff IMO.
