Well, why would any more HAC stations add at this point? The song is moving the wrong direction on that chart. Hopefully tomorrow will be better with CHR. It's basically been bouncing around between positive and negative updates on HAC since the 17th, between 408-418 spins (the chart position is faster songs passing). Today's -10 drop was a little steeper since WSJT in Tampa had a -11 drop in spins compared to last week. Still HAC had a +9 spin increase a week ago, so it's not really out of the range of variation. This of course isn't great, but it's premature to say the song is over on HAC. I've seen the same from other songs on the chart that got a second wind (or behind the scenes label push) and started rising again.

is RCA doing anything to get Adam played on radio?? I mean he did his part with the radio tour and interviews so I'm curious WTF are they doing?
Radio PDs chose NCOE...that's the song they said they wanted and they got it and then don't play it? I don't get it.

Just my opinion, but RCA is either doing nothing of significance to push the single, or they simply have no power with radio at this time.
RCA's established artists, the ones they don't have make deals for and push for, seem to be doing fine. But, are they having any luck breaking new artists right now? Does anyone know? Who is the last "non-established" person they have had success with? Posner pretty much flopped on his second era/single. Maybe Hot Chelle Rae (are they RCA?)
ETA---One thing I always come back to, radio may have chosen NCOE, but not with a huge amount of excitement, it seems. Adam described it as, "the song they showed the most interest in."
Maybe RCA is the problem; things have changed within since FYE.

Here is the 6/25/12 CHR/Pop Mediabase update:
52 56 LAMBERT, ADAM Never Close Our Eyes 284 290 -6 1.295
--- Bullsfan: "Maybe RCA is the problem; things have changed within since FYE."
My version "Maybe radio is the problem; things have changed within since WWFM."
Look at the Top 40 radio songs in the US -- a strong skew toward teen/pre-teen music.
---
As far as RCA goes, there have been changes but the RCA radio promo team is actually stronger than it was in 2009-2010. I really do not think that this is an issue from RCA except that with modest US album sales, and less than enthusiastic response from US radio in the first 2 singles, I wonder if even Adam wants to invest a lot more money and effort into US radio. There are other paths to success and he may need to focus on his core strength -- concert performances. I am ready for the Trespassing tour. Is it 2013 yet?
--
With that and even the less than great update yesterday ----
NCOE has new stations spinning it and it is not certain which way it is heading.

Top 40 is skewing very young, but there is room for something like NCOE. Yes, it must be competitive for those slots not being filled by 1D, Carly Rae, Selena, etc., but that is where the label needs to come in and make it happen.

Radio PDs chose NCOE...that's the song they said they wanted and they got it and then don't play it? I don't get it. RCA did not poll every PD from 250 stations across America. Chances are they had a certain amount of PDs, that they have a good relationship with, that they asked to listen to the two options. The PDs "showed the most interest in" NCOE. This could mean 7 out of 10 responded with a simple "I think this would probably fit best". They did not say they would play NCOE or that they liked if better than any of the other 50-100 songs that get sent to them every month. 250 PDs did not respond with "OMG, YES! Our station will for sure put this song in high rotation right away!" PDs aren't going to guarantee anything unless they have some type of really unique and special deal, like they had for artists like KP, Gaga, Rihanna or Madonna. Adam isn't in this category. He is in the category with the other many artists who have had a couple of top 20 hits over the past three or four years.

But without some new hit singles, it will be his old fanbase with only a few new ones thrown in for the concerts. Then where does that leave Adam for album #3? RCA needs to work this single and IMO, if Interscope can do it with Lights - Elle Goulding, then RCA should be able to do it easily with Adam Lambert and this song! Sorry, but RCA has dropped the ball on these 2 singles. The rollout for BTIKM, with the Dec release, was nothing short of ridiculous. Adam has worked his butt off and the fans have been doing all they can do. The only under performers I see is from this supposedly great radio team and "King Joe!" I have been trying to give RCA the benefit of the doubt, thinking, "They must have a plan that we don't see. These single rollouts can't really be this screwed up!" Right down to the single choices of the only 2 songs that are nothing like the rest of the album! :-/ To have an artist with Adam's talent, good looks, personality, and charisma and blow it like this is inexcusable and almost laughable!! The only thing I am grasping at right now as hopeful was that wonderful backstage interview that Adam did with radio Alice. He is so positive and so hopeful and has mentioned more than once in other interviews, "It is only the beginning." And that there are more singles to come. I hope he is keeping some big secret that will knock our socks off when we find out.

What real evidence is there that RCA's radio promo team is stronger now? Sure, Joe R. is supposed to be "Radio King" but I haven't seen it. He apparently "loved him some Kris Allen," too, lol. But he can't get his single to go anywhere, either.
I'm also in the camp that Trespassing Tour 2013 is nice, but I don't see how it does much to move Adam beyond his current fanbase.
Eta---totally agree mys*&@^#r; Adam has given RCA a ton to work with, including a #1 album, a Bruno/Dr. Luke single, and a mini-tour with Queen. They need to step-up.

With a much smaller budget. :( That's exactly right and why I keep hoping for some other kind of tour situation than the one that panders to a traveling group of stans. I know that another GNT type tour would be tons of fun for the stans, but I don't really care about them. (Sorry, tour super stans! ) I care about ADAM! I want RCA to figure out a way to get him in front of new audiences, especially internationally! If the singles aren't going to make it on radio, then RCA needs to think outside of the Idol box and come up with ways to attrack new fans for this era and for the next one.
