Can anyone match the over ripe unctuous beauty of Mr. Lambert? He never hesitates to play all his cards, with a singular abandon, as an homage to his self-conception. No one since Elizabeth Taylor, in the Hollywood adaptation of John O'Hara's Butterfield 8, has there been anything like him, of either sex. Bowie was too angular and emaciated but still very appealing as elegant, epicene self-creation. But Adam is voluptious and utterly over the top and his self-knowledge is part of the exhilarating game. Jim Morrison was too addicted to his masculinity and playing to all those nubile girls, those child/women destined for seduction." Truly yours, Myra Breckenridge P.S. Look it all up on Wikipedia Holy cats, that's a thing of exquisite beauty! Whoever wrote it is another kind of artist. He or she should follow Adam around and write concert reviews for him. I totally agree with you!

Just to explain my comment about ABTD sounding a bit off -- I mean "off" as in different, not as in bad. I find the segment beginning with I Want to Break Free, AOBTD, .. then Somebody to Love an interesting development, if you will, for this concert. Adam talked about green light, red light, yellow light from B&R regarding song interpretation, and I wonder if there was a rather intelligent (from Adam) and generous (from B&M) compromise here. Adam's mission is TRESPASSING. Even though he is singing with QUEEN, the artist/businessman in him still puts TRESPASSING as his #1 priority. The music of QUEEN and the sounds of TRESPASSING are different. Some mentioned that Adam might not gain many fans for TRESPASSING doing these concerts since QUEEN gigs would attract a rock oriented audience. That's probably true. However, if you watch the audience during Adam's first set and his second set, there seems to be a change in reception (to me anyways), especially when he started to 'let loose' and 'break free' and became more Adam Lambert with the above three songs. Some in audience might have gone WTF, some might have thought Hmm..., and some might have become intrigued enough to look him up. It's Adam's way of gently 'separating' himself from QUEEN and shows people what kind of artist and showman Adam Lambert is. And this, IMO, was allowed a green/yellow light from B&R to happen in the second half of the concert.
Watch Roger's face and what he exclaimed to himself at the end of I Want to Break Free. It's trust given and earned. IMO. 8-) THIS! I couldn't put my finger on it - the difference from the first half of Adam v the second half - except on the first half he seemed so much more reserved, at least from an Adamizing standpoint that us fans are use to. I thought perhaps it was just him staying inside the Queen box in a fashion. Seemed reserved by Adam standard and not vocally flourished. Loved the use of his lower register more in this concert though. Anyway, what you say here makes a lot of sense and I agree with the concept. Things just seems so much more fun and free when Adam cut loose a little more. I think the audience response was good too:-)

It cracks me up how Brian May just ends the song. When it's through, his hands go down and cross. He seems to usually hang his head too. I guess it's the way a guitarist gets quick rest to shoulders and arms and hands. I thought I was through listening and watching for tonight but I feel my hand wanting to click on you tube again. Save me.

Yes, I've been telling myself to turn off that concert and get some necessary work done, but it just started over... again! Maybe tomorrow... : BTW, as many have said, it's been sooo great to have folks to share all this joy with - can hardly stand it! :2tears: (thanks for adding this smiley!)

On AOBTD I do love the run near the end (that he and Freddie both do) where he is walking to the front of the stage and he is just so full of swagger, that it's awesome. That whole song is awesome. I also love the byplay of Adam and Brian during STL -- that's hilarious!
Okay, now that I have spent the day between cycling TdF coverage) and the concert, I am worn out! I wonder if I have any clean clothes for tomorrow...huh.

Dustinþ@dgoodno1
just saw a few videos of Adam Lambert fronting Queen, if Roger Taylor and Brian May don't sign him for a full tour, they've lost their minds

Reading through everyone's posts in my iPad while simultaneously downloading an mp3 of the entire show from terra zephead's website. It's taking forever, but I know it wil be worth it.
I've listened a few times today and love so many of the songs. I feel like last night was so amazing for so many reasons. 100,000 people in that crowd last night, right? Thay all seemed to be having a great time, dancing, singing, swaying. It was exquisite rock n roll. So good. Somebody to love, dragon attack, another one bites the dust, crazy little thing, I want it all....oh, I loved it all! The super fast we will rock you. I'm left quite blown away and I want more.
