Just saw this convo on twitter. I have not read KK's blog tho. Has anyone? Read from top down: Cloex75 cloex75Huh, did you read kidd kraddick blog? selena and biebs were offered as promo tools for playing call me maybe.. Now I get it. saga saga sagajocloex75 same managerCloex75 cloex75sagajo I knew that part, just surprised the payoff was talent. Knew he promised #1 for award performance, now know howsaga sagajocloex75 I wonder if this is what RCA need to learn to do... Use Kesha and pink to push Adam for exampleSo - many of us were wondering how the CRJ song raced to #1 & this seems to explain it. Thoughts?

If it was as "easy" as money, I think Adam would have a hit by now. RCA put a lot into Trespassing---there are a lot of big names involved. I am sure they did everything they could (except, maybe, pick the right singles) to get something going.
I think radio is out this era, guys. I don't think you can come back from two failed singles. For whatever reason, radio does not want to play along. I don't think it would do any good to put Adam in the position of having yet another single struggle. RCA needs to rethink their strategy.
My biggest hope right now is a place on the AI judging panel. Last Fall, I would have said no way; but seeing how Adam's songs are not getting a shot and his awesome album is sinking, this is the time to try something new and drastic. And, a Queen gig in the US---just one, but in a major venue if possible to keep it prestigeous and media-worthy.
eta---Regarding international success for NCOE, I think part of it has to be the song. But it's also, imo, crappy timing of the release. Adam has done essentially NO promo outside the UK. He made big trips to Australia and New Zealand and Finland last year which, I'm sure, helped a bunch.

That CRJ song is also INCREDIBLY catchy. As juvenille as it is, the song is hard to resist. My daughter and her little friends love it. My 9 yr. old son loves it:( It is just one of those fluffy, shallow summer pop songs. It probably didn't take much for it to catch on.

This is how Olly Murs got added by Z100 when no one even knew who he was. He was a "bonus" from the One Direction promo. Also, when Adam did Wango Tango at KISS LA in 2010, a few of us were convinced he was attached to them getting KE$SHA. The labels also get away with things like promo for contests, tickets, things like that.

maddie, I've thought this a few times also, but then I realized that Queen fans would probably love Trespassing, Shady, Kickin In, Chokehold, Broken Open, OOL, Underneath, Runnin, Take Back, and Nirvana! IMO, those songs all have a Rock edge. Also, Queen music crosses so mnay genres, as does Adam's. But they both have the amazing vocals in common. The sad thing is, though, that all the albums sold at these London concerts will not count for the charts. bullsfan, I think there is time to rescue this album but only because it is an excellent album. I think one more try at a single is OK. Because really, is there anything to lose at this point? But it has to work this time! I don't think now is the time to release it, though. I am thinking they should wait until maybe Sept. :-/ I just hope the RCA suits are seeing that they chose the wrong songs and will do it right this time or just let Adam choose. His album, his music, his name, his career! I can't even imagine what is like to be him right now. The Queen shows and accolades are amazing! That has to be so satisfying. But everywhere, his singles are failing (most likeley singles he did not choose.) And an album that has been critcally acclaimed by almost all, is sliding off the BB200 after only 2 months.

If RCA truly believes in this album then it's not too late to pull out the stops (with Kei$ha or whatever) to get a 3rd single played. A single that is representative of Adam F Lambert not Bruno F Mars. And I agree that now is not the time - Sept would be good.
Yeah the CRJ single is catchy but there are lots of songs being hyped on top 40 radio that are definitely NOT. There must be major things going on behind the scenes to push some of these songs up the radio play charts.

Like Elle Goulding! OMG! She makes me fall asleep, but guess who her label is? 3 guesses and the first 2 don't count! ;D

myspenser - just saw your post in News about JLo leaving Idol!!! If Adam gets the judges post I really, really wonder how that will affect his sales & radio play. I'm not sure it's a given that he'll get a huge boost just because JLo & Levine did. Idk Idk.
