I think the Queen hype will spill over to the US. I can't see this as anything but a plus for him in spite of it taking him out of the country for a short period. Respected musicians wanting to work with him only adds to his cred. And doing these amazing concerts with them moves him even further away from those other AI alums mentioned above. Not even radio can put them all in the same basket after this (as if they could before LOL) Any comparison is invalid period.

Agreed! Now, if they just took the show to the U.S. only for a couple of dates, that would make the deal even sweeter!

Most of the regulars here know I am a huge Katy Perry fan! Yes, I really am!! So much so that I actually went to see her movie today, which BTW, was damn good! I am going to relate this to Adam in a minute. Anyway, I found the part about her 2nd label (Columbia) very, very interesting. They were trying to get her to "fit" into what they thought radio wanted. Trying to figure out what radio would play. She wouldn't budge. She wanted her songs and her quirky styling to be the way it was. In other words, she wanted to be "Katy." They actually came to a stalemate, where Columbia refused to release a single and her album!! BUT, they didn't want to drop her because they thought another label would pick her up and she'd become a huge star for some other label! Somehow, her A&R person (a woman) got Columbia to release her and then this woman quit Columbia and took all of Katy's stuff to Capital and pitched her. Capital agreed that Katy was unique and destined to be a star. They got her 1st single down to 3 choices. Katy said, because of the stuff that happened at Columbia, she was considered damaged goods by both the industry and radio. So, she knew the single had to be BIG!! Capital let her pick it! She chose, "I Kissed a Girl" and the rest is history. So, back to relating this to Adam. After watching the red jacket snippets from today in Poland and seeing the joy and abandon that Adam is doing these Queen songs with I just want RCA's plan to be to "Free Adam!" Forget the safe Adam that did all those radio tours! The safe Adam that RCA thinks everyone wants. I think they are wrong! It was post Idol "wild child Adam" that had the 2 hits in 2010! Not safe Adam! Let Adam be Adam!! I want Shady or Cuckoo or Trespassing. If he's going down, let him go down being himself!!
(I may delete this post soon. Just neeeded to vent after coming fresh from the Katy perry movie)

FINALLY BACK FROM VACATION..HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME EXCEPT DAMN SPORATIC WIFI
Speaking of next single which I assume, thinking positively, there will be, I hope maybe in Sept he starts his new single promo as well as TV shows, etc he choses "CUCKOO" although I love NAKED LOVE but I don't think the conservative PD would even give that song a chance.
Reason of moving on in Sept...remember when he sang NCOE on AI, what were the sales for this single? As much as we fans love this song, I don't think it made an impression on the audience. Downloads were minimal. Maybe we didn't see the light then.
I think cuckoo is quirky and has a cute run that I can see teens screaming. I don't know but I want a mega hit so bad for him.
Lastly, the one thing as I was listening to radio, in particular was One Thing and FUn and even Beiber. No one has a distinct voice as Adam. Could this be an asset or a detriment on radio?
Also right now besides boy band plays this weekend, was all the rapping crap in songs. I give up on quality songs on radio
SO instead of trying to force this song, move onto the next and hopefully RCA will trust Adam's instinct and push cuckoo.

Great post mys*&@^#r I really miss wildchild Adam. I do love current Adam and I thought TP was a lot better than FYE, but live he just seems so safe and mellowed out compared to FYE promo + GNT. Is it to get behind RCA and play it safe for radio or a result of that year at home? :dunno:

mys*&@^#r, please don't delete your post! More people need to read that. Everything you said is right on the money! And as a matter of fact, that's precisely what I'm hoping RCA would do after Adam returns from his Queen gigs. It could happen, you guys! After 2 unsuccessful singles of label's choice and their way of handling things, they might just say, "WTF, let's do it his way, can't get any worse than it is now!"
P.S. seems Tigerlilly has not been around lately, I miss her posts. :(

I swear the day they picked NCOE I had a feeling of "tragedy" descending upon Adam's career (sorry for the melodrama)... and everyone was screaming "good for the US radio"... oh, wait, I am in a wrong thread anyway - there will be a third single and it will be fabulous! it will be adam's in spirit!
