Good post, cassie. But Queen really isn't true hard rock. If it was, I probably would not love them. It is way more melodic. They almost have their very own genre! Rock/Pop/Opera. Freddie did not have a hard rock voice either agreed

Freddie did not have a hard rock voice either When I first discovered Queen which was like two-three years ago. I thought that they were pop. For the sole reason that there songs are a mixture of genres. Like modern pop music. I did research and found out that they are considered a Rock Band. Adam fits in well with Queen for alot of reasons. He adores them. He has that same crazy flamboyancy that Freddie had. And he has great chemistry with Brian and Roger. Freddie was one of a kind. There will be nobody like him ever. Adam sings the way he wants, with Brian and Roger's blessing of course.

Freddie did not have a hard rock voice either I agree with you both on this -- one thing I have always loved about Queen is that they are a hybrid. They sing and write songs in a number of genres--and I remember a quote by the band's manager when Freddie wrote BR and Freddie said to him "now here's the operatic part". Who writes opera in a rock song? Well, Queen does, and that is why Adam fits in so well with them. Freddie was a rare singer who really didn't have a "rock" voice either but could DO rock. And both Adam and Freddie know how to tear it up on stage like no others...crazy flamboyance indeed!

The best BR I've seen so far, regarding observing everything that's happening on the stage. How Adam sings then steps back, the bows, goes out, then comes back with a bang, I looove how Adam pays respect through out the whole song and calls them "rock royalty" at the end!!

And to complete the sacrilege - Adam is a whole lot easier on the eyes than Freddie. But I am kinda shallow that way. :-p Definitely

Freddie did not have a hard rock voice either AGREE> More melodic, more complex and more theatrical. There is much hard rock I do not love but I have loved Queen since the first time I heard the music. I don't think their music necessarily lends itself to the typical "gruff" rock voice. I think Adam's voice fits beautifully - better than anyone else on the scene right now.
[/IMG]
Haha. I was about to ask the same question and then saw myspenser's answer. So there must have been 28 albums bunched up between @3600 & @4400. This is really not bad for Adam, better than I expected given the lack of radio play.
