Speaking of Costa Mesa, does any one know how ticket sales are going for that show and for Fantasy Springs? I doubt that either show is sold out, but are they getting close? Hoping for large turn outs even if not all the way sold out. peace&love Only about half the tickets have been sold for the Costa Mesa date. It's a bigger venue (8,500 seats), but since Adam sold out 2 dates there in 2010, I was hoping he could get to at least 70% this time around. I think awareness is part of the problem -- not a lot of Adam radio play in LA. :( I wish there was a way to get the word out and get some more ticket sales. Would twitter work? I don't know about FS -- haven't looked lately. Too busy watching videos. Last time I checked there were about 3800 tickets left at CM. So if we use the 8500 figure for capacity, he has sold 4700. They changed the seating chart and don't show you the actual number (like 879) of seats that are left anymore. I am not expecting the 2 side sections to sell though. I wouldn't buy them! Also, the Pac Amph tickets slowed down once FS was announced. BUT, if Adam can sell venues of 4,000 with no big single out and being out of the music scene for 2 years, he is doing alright!

Reminds me of a very brilliant young man I know. He was totally self taught on computers. He was set to go to college and a friend of his got him an interview at a BIG computer company. He got the job and was offered $95,000 a year when he was about 18 years old. Some people said, "Turn it down and go to college." I said, "You go to college to get a degree so you can get this type of job. Take the job." He did and hasn't looked back. There are times when you are presented with a great option that doesn't look like your original plan. This MIGHT be one of those for Adam.
My fondest wish? That Queenbert makes NEW music together. As a "side" project or whatever you want to call it. Roger and Brian would likely enjoy writing some new songs and with Adam they have the voice and mojo of the Freddie times to re-inspire them.
Adam is so creative and is willing to change it up (check out hair/clothes for proof). I can see him being really flexible as new opportunities appear.
A funny side note on my friend. One of the benefits of his employment was a 401K retirement plan, but he was too young to qualify for one when he got the job! We had endless laughs about that one. Smart young dude problems!

Funny moment... Moscow - TSMGO Adam was re-enacting Freddie's pain and BM probably did not expect the drama and he started laughing.. FF to 3:34 www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJ46L-aORDw

One of the things I think about as I watch Queenbert is Adam's hometown band. Queen is beyond amazing. Dr. May finesses that guitar like Don Juan and his lover. Roger and Rufus have both youth and experience to give the drums/percussion some serious mojo and although the bassist and keyboards are not very front and center, they provide such a solid backing to the band ... enough that they can fly. Adam said that he does not worry too much about singing Queen's songs because he knows that people love them but you have to know that being in a band that has a level of talent comparable to his own must give him ideas. Adam is loyal and realistic but if I were Tommy Jo, Isaac, Ashley, and Brian London, I would be practicing really hard right now. Just a thought, should I be dodging tomatoes. no tomatoes from me... I posted very similar "thoughts" yesterday - i just can't imagine how Adam will go back to playing with Tommy... Perhaps just as you go back to your significant other after going to a Brad Pitt movie or celebrity of your choice, Adam will go back to his band with fond memories of his Zeus in a thong experience with Queen and get on with his real life with gratitude for the experience. Do you realize how unfair it is to compare 99.9% of the musicians in the world with Brian May and Roger Taylor? Adam lives in the real world and I'm sure will adjust to returning to it quickly. It may be a little more difficult for some of his unrealistic fans...... unless they want him to give up HIS goals and tour the world as guest singer with classic rock 'n roll musicians.

YESSSSSS! I cannot love them equally. Adam, MY Adam, who brings so much joy in my life, poured his heart and soul, and all sorts of body liquids, into Trespassing. Huge love and mad respect for that album. And I enjoy Queenbert for the reasons Maddie said, but in this order: 1. Adam wants it 2. Huge honour extended his way, adds up to his credibility among his colleagues as well as general audience 3. He'll learn a lot, benefit from it in many ways, help UK promo, etc 4. Did I mention Adam wants it? I could come up with a lot more, but it's too late. I've spent the entire evening lost in the Trespassing songs thread. jsyk.

I can't imagine the conflicting feelings Adam must have. Work on second solo album, no sophomore slump, in fact critical acclaim and #1 A bazillion radio station interviews with mostly morons, limited AirPlay Rock music icons mentoring and expressing joy and appreciation for your talent Still limited radio AirPlay. By the Rules #1 in Brazil.
I'm hoping critical acclaim, #1 album, and Queen's seal of approval mean more to him than radio AirPlay. I hate this chicken and egg situation, but I so rejoice in Queenbert. I keep thinking I'm going to listen to one or two songs from Kiev, and the next thing I know, it's two hours later.

Good to "see" you, keyboard! (Did you read my post?) ETA: Want to add that I am sure Adam's band is beyond thrilled to see Adam singing with Queen. It would probably be one of their dreams too! Musicians have mad respect for other musicians!

LOL ... Keyboard. ETA: another thought... It's likely, and quite possible, that for some fans-of-Adam QueenBert is only bert-worthy because of Adam. Just a thought.

I don't know the capacity at Winstar but I checked earlier today and there appeared to be quite a few tickets remaining and there are also tickets available on StubHub for all shows.
