BrianMayCom @brianmaycom Brian's Soapbox July 2012: bit.ly/NjTm13 Brian May says: "THANK YOU WROCKLAW !" + concert photos You were beautiful !! Big thanks to the great people of Wroclaw who packed the stadium last night [Saturday]. It was an amazing moment - reminiscent of 1986 and all that … a feeling to treasure. Here it is! This is a panorama I've laced together this morning, from 2 photos my daughter Emily took of the stadium during the show - it captures a lot of the atmosphere, I think. Special thanks to our promoters too, and to the Mayor and his people … I don't think we were ever made to feel more welcome in a city. Somehow I felt I glimpsed the indomitable Spirit of Poland, which has been so battered and cruelly bruised over the last hundred years. Proud to be a part of this joyful celebration. more..

If I ruled the world, I would want Adam away from Idol forever. One of the things that has made me so so happy the last week or so was Adam being feted for his voice and amazing stagecraft, rather than lumped in with "Idols" who get pumped and dumped with ever-increasing rapidity. Adam is a real musician with something wonderful to say. Trespassing is a thrilling wave of creativity. I want Adam to stand out, radically and frequently, and to have a life creating art of endurance, individuality, and substance. Art of the kind he has been helping bring back to us this past week with Queen, tunes and experiences for the ages that liberate the human spirit. Yet … I do see that the conditions that created career paths for our favorite artists of yesterday don't exist anymore. The music business is less than ever a question about the quality of the music. Adam has been "arriving" for years but never seems to get there. It seems the channels are jammed. I also see that Adam needs a source of income independent from the direct returns from his music, and a way also to goose those returns. I am assuming that Idol would be a job that required very little of Adam’s time or emotional investment and would not require him to compromise his guts and principles. Maybe something like this would in its own weird way allow Adam to create music to his own criteria – music like Shady and Cuckoo and Underneath – and get it in front of people again. I would much rather see Adam with a cable show under his own control, where he could perform and bring forth guest performers and the like, but maybe this would be a path in that direction. One thing I do know is that he has to make a radical move … I guess part of me hates it and part of me thinks it would be fun to see Adam use something like Idol (again), the ultimate establishment show, as an end run around “The Man.” I guess we’ll see if there’s any substance to it or just a rumor. I feel the same way as you do.. would love Adam to have his own TV show. In the meantime if this Idol gig becomes available to Adam, millions of people will see him twice a week. IMHO this will send him into super stardom and radio be damned . Adam would be marketing his music and himself. Talk about having Charisma ,talent and gorgeousness... I have been addicted to Adam for 3 years because of AI.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ANYONE IN THE UK:
The NCOE gifting campaign is stalled right now, because they need people in the UK to do the gifting.
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN
Offer to be one of the gifters of the single. The fan groups organizing this need gifters (people who gift the single at iTunes). They will reimburse you from the donations. Email RequestAdam@aol.com to offer, or let me know and the information will get to the right people.
Note: I am going to be shamelessly spamming today's news thread with this announcement, just letting y'all know. Let's get this sucker to #10!!

Looked at the poll. I think it's misleading "Yes, he'd be good" "No, he'd be great" Pretty easy to click on the Yes by mistake when No is what you meant.

Michael Slezak @michaelslezaktv Adam Lambert as American Idol Judge: 4 Reasons He'd Be a Great Addition tvline.com/2012/07/09/adam-lambert-american-idol-judge/JULY 9, 2012 07:50 AM PDT Adam Lambert as American Idol Judge: 4 Reasons He'd Be a Great AdditionBY MICHAEL SLEZAK Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, and Randy Jackson have yet to finalize deals to return as judges for American Idol‘s upcoming twelfth season, and now it looks as though the show might be looking for a home-grown talent to replace Tweddle-Huh?, Tweedle-Abs, or Tweedle-Yo! Indeed, Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert has been in talks with the show’s producers about the gig for the last month, according to an E! News report. Even though, as an Idol recapper, the addition of Lambert would give me one less person to gleefully ridicule/rage against, I still think it’s a pretty genius idea. And here are four reasons why: HE’S BRASH | Anyone who’s ever read an interview with Lambert or followed him on Twitter knows he’s not afraid to speak his mind. More often than not, in fact, the guy seems to revel in being a provocateur, even when it comes to discussing his musical contemporaries. That fearless, polarizing energy has been conspicuously absent from the Idol panel since Simon Cowell left the show after Season 9, replaced by critiques that are so intentionally vague and/or syrupy that it’s hard to resist the siren call of the mute button. Love him or hate him, it’s unlikely Lambert’s contributions as an Idol judge would be sanitized or boring — and those new tricks might be exactly what the old dog in the reality singing genre needs to combat viewer erosion. HE’S KNOWLEDGEABLE | Lambert’s monster voice is one of the most formidable in the current pop scene, and unlike, say, J.Lo: Mistress of Auto-Tune, he’s got the technical knowledge to offer instructive, insightful critiques that go beyond telling contestants they were “pitchy.” What’s more, the guy has undeniable showmanship skills, and as an Idol contestant, his choice of songs, outfits, and musical arrangements were among the most varied and daring in Idol history. Honestly, who better to push the Season 12 contestants to color outside the lines and push their creative limits? HE’S FUNNY | Judging a live talent competition is a tough gig — just ask Nicole Scherzywhatzit or Ellen DeGeneres — but Lambert is well known for his quick wit, puckish demeanor, and outsize charisma. Plus, with his fabulous hair and penchant for outré fashion, he might even give J.Lo a run for her Louboutins. HE’S GAY | Okay, okay, so Lambert’s sexual orientation isn’t actually a job qualification, but perhaps his weekly presence on the show would finally squelch the sense of gay panic — the occasional homophobic banter among the judges and host Ryan Seacrest; the bizarre resistance to ever mentioning personal lives of contestants who are clearly gay or lesbian — that’s pervaded Idol for 11 seasons running. What do you think of the idea of Lambert as Idol judge? Would his presence on the panel make you more or less likely to tune in? And if he’s being brought in as a replacement, which of the existing judges would you like to see exit? Sound off in the comments, and for all my Idol news and commentary, follow me on Twitter @michaelslezaktv!

so here is my .02 cents on the AI rumor. First, Adam can to whatever the heck he wants and I'm good with that. Its pretty evident at this point that radio is giving him the big F you so he may very well need to try something else to get his product in front of his target market, or at least another target market. It obvious young girls watch the show, look at who wins. If Adam can win over those girls, I can't help but think it might influence radio and would certainly help sales. And where he did all the radio promo here for free, at least he'd get paid for being on Idol. I think Adam accepts the fact that he will always be tied to the show, we probably should as well.

The bizarre thing with AI is that while the contestants struggle with Idol stigma, it has somehow become "cool" to be a judge. I don't quite know who to thank, whether it's Jennifer Lopez or Adam Levine/Blake Shelton, but the judges are the people who are getting all the success in the deal.
Radio is not playing Adam---he needs an alternate path to the pop star thing, and this could be it. Of course, because I am now on board, it will probably never happen, lol.

LOL! I love Slezak!! it looks as though the show might be looking for a home-grown talent to replace Tweedle-Huh?, Tweedle-Abs, or Tweedle-Yo! In case you don't watch Idol, "Huh?' is Steven. "Abs" is JLo, and "YO" is Randy!

perezhilton.com/2012-07-09-american-idol-randy-jackson-outadam-lambert-judge#.T_rxApH57KcPerez LOL, copying here, so you don't have to go to the site We lurve Adam and all…. but how the heck is a former contestant gonna compare to the mega star power (aka Brit Brit) over on X Factor??
If FOX wants to beef up their ratings, they're gonna need a SUPER star up on that panel!
If they're gunning for an Idol alum, they'd be better off with Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson or JHud!
