:D Good to see you! I think that's always a possibility - it was always the song most covered by the band....but I wouldn't consider that a BIG surprise. BUT again with Brian's tendency to embellishment perhaps I shouldn't be so quick to dismiss

^ Indeed. I've always loved how all three voices mixed. I too have a soft spot for Rog's gruff delivery....

Hey guys...regarding the "BIG" Surprise. Well I always ALWAYS have to temper my enthusiasm when Brian says something like that. He ALWAYS exaggerates lol. Although to be fair to him - what he calls a big surprise might indeed come as a big surprise to the common fans....but for myself, etc. it's usually not that big.
Freakydeaky said something to the effect that Princes of the Universe has been trending on Twitter. Well that would be a BIG surprise indeed...even to me. I would say that has about a 1% chance of happening. Never say never but I don't see any reason it would be brought in. I would honestly have to say that as a betting man, it probably is the band doing Las Palabras De Amor. Surprising only because they didn't do it last time in Rio and it's a new song with Adam. Since he's stating a big surprise, THAT does make it more likely to me that they will do a full band version of the song with Adam singing rather than throwing it in the acoustic set ala Teo Toriatte in Japan.
Although...with that being said even I can be surprised! As I just was yesterday when someone on Queenzone posted about a new RT song. There's a film that was released in mid August called Absolutely Anything starring Simon Pegg (and also the vocal talent of the Monty Python guys) and the last role of Robin Williams (in a vocal talent role). It hasn't been released in the US yet. BUT in the opening of the film there is a 1:34 of a song...that turns out to be a new RT song! I'd never heard it before it sounds like a Fun On Earth outtake. No idea if anymore will be released - there is no soundtrack yet...I'm trying to find out more. But for over a month it was in cinema and no one reported it....
SO with that being said what else could it be? It usually does come in the from of a different song. But I'm not certain what it could really be. OF COURSE I always hold out hope for one of my favs....Innuendo, White Queen, It's Late, Tenement Funster, Let Me Live....BUT I doubt it...I give them all about as much of a shot as Princes - Tenement having the most chance as being a Roger throwaway....White Queen bubbling under.
A dark horse would be It's A Hard Life. They included a live version from Rio on the 2011 reissues...and they did it in 2010 with the lead singer of Keane....so that could be a possibility.
BUT the other possibility to be honest given his phrasing could be a collaboration of some kind. We'd have many choices from other RiR stars: (Chances are based on supposing it *IS* a guest star that is the surprise)
Metallica - big Queen fans - would do Stone Cold Crazy with them - Semi-liklely Motely Crue - Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee are both big Queen fans - Not likely Rod Stewart - Friend of Freddie - Doubtful Elton John - Friend of band and Adam and previously sang with Queen - might be Show Must Go On - could be BoRap -- Likely chance Seal - did sing at FMTC - Doubtful Katy Perry - the opposite end of the spectrum as far as days go but big Queen/Adam fans so there's that. I'd say a midsized chance.

Always nice to be welcomed back - I've missed you guys too a bit :D
Indeed - as Freddie used to say the bigger the better! Rock In Rio should be huge...and we should get some nice professional vids of that gig at the very least. Quite possibly Argentina and Chile as well....Last time QPR was in Argentina it was broadcast on TV and the full vid got out. Still a bootleg of sorts but much higher quality then fanmade YT clips:
For reference only: (It is QPR NOT QAL):. Around 1:13ish or so is how they did Las Palabras that visit.
CHILE:
ARGENTINA:

Hey all! Been awhile Been a bit of a rough end of summer which is why I've been scarce - that and I've gotten out of the way of your ToH train as I didn't want to be seen as derailing with my Queen drivel Happy to see some more QAL happening! Still hope for SOME studio work from the 3 at some point...even one track would be nice. The interview with Neil Fairclough was very nice - seems like a great guy to hang out with. And of course him dropping that tidbit of how in 2012 they ran through Tenement Funster, Long Away, and Sleeping On The Sidewalk....now if only they'd PERFORM them. Of course my bet is those run throughs were at Adamless rehearsals as they are sung by Rog, Bri, and Bri respectively anyways! BUT as you may have seen I've been quietly hoping for Rog to shake up his usual AKOM/Days schtick for a bit now by throwing in TF. And maybe Long Away once or twice replacing '39. Sleeping would make a nice encore bit. Anyways - also glad to see Nick on the road again. I talked to him previously about trying to get Adam for one of the Queen podcasts and he said he was going to try so we'll have to see if he can find time... If we were going to do the setlist game though I'd bet heavily on the same set as the European tour perhaps with the addition of Las Palabras De Amor (most likely as part of Bri's set ala Teo Toriatte)

Yes. Spike was there but due to constant changing sets he was for the most part off camera. They tried to do as little set changing as possible-for example Freddie's piano was used by Paul McCartrny for Let It Be at the end!

Just popping in to say that there was a rumor posted on QZ that Queen would have 2 impressive/big releases this fall.
Not sure of the veracity but it's not someone who usually trolls. So with that being said, if it is some inside info than I would have to believe that one would be a QAL DVD/Blu-Ray, etc.
I could be wrong - it could be 2 Queen archival releases...it could even have been somewhat confused info and perhaps they are going to release a big 1975 Hammersmith gig but have it in a box along with the 1979 Hammersmith gig (thus the 2 releases).
Most of what I had heard had indicated that early 2016 would be a QAL Blu-Ray but my sources aren't always correct either.
BUT I thought I'd throw out the possibilities.

Memories.... QUEEN....LIVE AID!! This is for you Talon!! Dr. Brian May retweeted Live Aid @live_aid1985 6h6 hours ago Radio, what's new? Someone still loves you youtu.be/tgLsVXhgN1o @queenwillrock #LIVEAID30 pls RT
Quite simply one of the most mesmerising performances of all time. Freddie, told by his doctors not to sing, with the band with no sound check, no lights, no "show", in a stadium not filled with Queen fans and THIS. Just holding them in the palm of his hand. Powerful stuff.
